This is a great hotel right on the very best spot in one of the top-3 towns in Crete. We are an American couple in our 60s traveling in Crete via rental car for a month and we booked 3 nights here and ended up staying a week. I got to know the entire staff because they were so amazing and caring - the owner, his family, manager, the wonderful breakfast chef and the amazing young lady who is a student and runs the breakfast service every morning. Anyway, they are incredibly nice and hard-working, and the hotel rooms are fantastic. This hotel is new and very nice. That makes a big difference. The views from the bar, rooftop deck and rooms facing the sea are spectacular - literally 20 feet from the water overlooking the entire harbor and views across the famous Gulf. The breakfast is amazing, and the chef turns out different vegetable dishes, pastries, omelets and salads every morning. It is rare for us to stay in the heart of old towns because we have a rental car and we usually stay at larger hotels on the edge of the old towns so we can park and drive in and out of town as a base, but here the parking is free and easy because the hotel has an agreement with the port parking lot 50 meters away. We parked there free and easy every late afternoon for a week as we returned to the hotel in our car from touring around the Lashiti mountains and the many incredible villages, mountain and coastal drives, monasteries and amazing archeological sites. It is a spectacular part of Crete and all easily accessible from this hotel as a base. In fact, the manager, who is from Agios Nikolaus and knows every inch of the Lasithi Province, gave us great touring advice on scenic drives and where to go, which is why we based there a week. To top it off, we tried 6 of the restaurants she and the owner recommended - all fantastic because Agios Nikolaus has great restaurants. The internet is very fast - about 100 Mbps and the new smart TVs have Netflix and Amazon Prime. Fantastic!

We stayed at the hotel for a week in July, and the experience was amazing. Beautiful rooms; a delicious welcome drink, breakfast served in the room every day according to the menu, a wonderful hot tub, and a stunning view from the pool. The staff was definitely the highlight – outstanding customer service and delicious food in the restaurant. For the first time in a long while, I was able to truly relax. Thank you for everything.

The Host al the reception was super nice, gave us any advice and provided a map of the town and of the region. We followed her advice to have lunch in Mohlos town (delicious fresh fish). Clean room, near the city center (8 minutes walk). Easy to park along the street near the hotel. Nice and complete breakfast.

Depends on what you expect… If you’re looking for a quiet place, far from the noise of mass tourism, with very friendly and welcoming staff, a great breakfast with mind-blowing views of the bay and mountains… If you want a room with a private pool so you can jump straight into the water from your terrace… If you expect your room to be cleaned every day and your coffee machine to be refilled with fresh capsules… If you expect to have a nice beach near to the hotel without crowd, almost just for you... If you're looking for a truly great vacation in Crete......then you should definitely book this hotel. If you're expecting something else, go somewhere else, but you’ll probably regret it. ;)

Amamzing hospitality provided by the staff. The two receptionists were caring, friendly and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable. I sprained my ankle hiking the Richtis gorge and they quickly arrnged a taxi for me to take to me the local hospital. The place is nice with a personal touch that makes you feel like home.

    Agios Nikolaos is well worth a visit, this being our second time here after a day trip last year. This year we stopped here for 2 nights at the end of a tour around the island. We could probably have stayed for another night, 2 more at the most. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to visit, both during the day and night. Shops are great and beaches within 5 min walk or drive.

    Very nice town. Many activities. Nice beaches. Nice people. You can do scuba dive, snorkeling, trip with semisubmarine, trip with both at Spinagola Island, Olive Farm, Traditional Cretan Village Kritza, trip with little train, many atractions around like CretAquarium, Amazonas Park, Beaches, Museum. And many nice restaurants like Karnagio or Plateia.

    Such a scenic beautiful place with so many restaurants and bars offering quality food. At the time of year we visited it wasn’t too busy or noisy but still had a buzz and atmosphere. Lots to do and see and some nice beaches as well as the lake and the port. A good place to sit and people watch from the coffee bars!!

    Cute small town by the coast, when we were there there weren’t a lot of things to do other than explore the surrounding nature of agios nikolaos and we didn’t have a car but in order to properly go around the area outside of town I recommend renting a car!

    We came for 5 nights half board and we enjoyed every moment. Agios Nikolaos is 10 minutes drive and it is a beautiful small city. Also must see is a little village Plaka in front to Spinalunga Island (from the book the Island) is 20 minutes drive. Kritsa is also a nice village 20 minutes away. The dinner was great, with variety of first courses and main courses. We loved it.

    Busy town with plenty going on.

    Busy town with plenty going on. Cruises and a little train doing local tours. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and plenty of authentic Greek food. A few hills but nothing too energetic. I did find that Greece is becoming a lot more expensive than it was some years ago.

    It was bright and spacious with a fantastic view of the sea and mountains… a stones throw away from the local beaches and restaurants/bars/supermarket… what more could one want? Then, on a different note, Chrisa was a fantastic host, accommodating our arrival, preparing baked goods and raki on our arrival, and being incredibly hospitable (genuinely so), sitting with us and chatting about our experience and life in Crete, sharing great restaurant recommendations… just a great person

    Very kind hosts, we had a hamper and the fridge had provisions. This was unexpected and made us feel very welcome. We have stayed around Crete for 19 years and never have received such warm hospitality. The room was very clean and the pool was beautiful. I would like to add that we also had car trouble and the owner Giorgos went above and beyond to help us get our car up and running again. Thank you so much for your kindness. We will be back again.

    Property is newly renovated and at very nice location with wonderful sea view. It is outside Agios Nikolaos town, and you need to have a car ... but you anyhow should have car because Crete island is wonderful place to visit and to see. Dimitris (professor of Physics!) is perfect host. One morning we got up eartly to watch sunrise. It was beautiful. But all other hotel guests were awake watching it... :-)

    The owner was super helpful. Very good for the price. The beds were extra comfy (and large). A dedicated parking stop with is more than one can say for most places in crete. An extremely good price /quality ratio.
