A perfect little place for a relaxing beach holiday. Easy to get there with a ferry from Athens in 30 minutes. The little port is close to everything. There are different types of beaches to choose from. Our favourite restaurant was Kaliva. Beautiful area quiet, just want we needed. All shop owners so friendly and polite too. Best taverna in the area would suggest 100% Kyriakakis right on the front, overlooking the sea, absolutely gorgeous. Food delicious, every dish we ordered better that the next. there are lots of good restaurants in Agia Marina. I personally think Sirokos is excellent (try the stuffed squid) and Kalifa and the 2 restaurants on either side of the Kalifa and Kariakakis's restaurant at the end of the main street. They all look onto the sea and the food is good. A beautiful place, with stunning views and a lovely town.
A beautiful place, with stunning views and a lovely town. The locals were welcoming and friendly. Plenty of fabulous restaurants and places to visit. The beach is there for those whole love the beach, with plenty of beachside bars and cafes. There are bike and quad hire places which make it a great way to visit the whole island of Aegina. They will happily give you great recommendations, take care of any needs you have, and cook a very good breakfast. If you're looking for a nice, not too expensive hotel in Aegina, this is the place to go. Also Agia Marina is a very nice little village. However only couple of rooms have not obstructed see view. We asked for it and we got it. The matress was pretty comfy but a bit too firm. The place is very good for snorkeling. I've seen a lot fish and even a moray just beside the hotel. The rooms are clean and the outside of the hotel looks charming. Rooms are dated but bed linen is changed every day and the room and bathroom cleaned daily. Lovely spot close to superb beach. Buses run from the main road to Aegina Port.
