Agia Anna was a lovely location, beautiful setting and we loved the fact you could eat dinner on the beach as the restaurants all set up on the beach in the early evening. The place had a cool vibe and felt undiscovered. there were plenty of places to eat and a supermarket to buy essentials. The staff went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. They really cared about the breakfasts they prepared and the presentation - they all did a great job. They were kind to the hotel cat Gasper - he is a great asset- who all the guests loved and patted. The place was excellent, and the beach was spectacular. Local food is so tasty, and prices are very reasonable. My trip was in May, and at that time, not all restaurants were open, especially at Night. We have to go to the City, which is not far, approximately 15 -20 minutes by Car. There is plenty to do in Naxos although some of the excursions are expensive. Maragas, Anna and Plaka have a great variety of acoomodation to suit all budgets and is easy to get to via the #1 bus. I went there at first to go on boat trips, I was on two wonderful boat trips starting from Agia Anna. From my accommodation I had to walk five minutes to reach the port, to find the boats. On one day I rented a car and went to see the Demeter temple, and the Panagia Drosiani church. The car rental was close to my accommodation, and the two sights to see were not far from Agia Anna. I spent one day in Agia Anna. I went to the Kedros beach around the small chapel. The room had everything available and was cleaned everyday. The area was lovely and the sunsets amazing. The pool was nice for an afternoon dip. The owners picked us up and dropped us back to the port for a small charge. We also rented a car from them for two days without any issues. It was a quiet building. The motor hire was so local and only €60 for a quad for the day. Naxos town was €2 euro on the bus from the hotel and you have to buy tickets from the supermarket (which is conveniently 1 min away). The bus from Naxos town stops right outside, so there is no need to use taxis. Wash n fold laundry service also provided by the hotel.
