It is a packed-in tiny place; no parking, crazy driving. The big attraction, of course, is the rock of Gibraltar, but you either have to have a long climb up a steep mountain (which I personally could not do) or rent a taxi which was basically a tour group of eight people. at $50 a person which seemed quite expensive (I'm a cheap traveler). Felt a bit like a herd of cows, stopping briefly at each major site up on the rock. But the driver was informative, though had a frustrating energy. Getting around Gibraltar is very easy.
Getting around Gibraltar is very easy. There is a bus every 15 minutes to just about anywhere in Gib. Good places to eat and plenty of shops, many familiar to those in the UK. For English speakers there is no problem as just about every Gibraltarian speaks English. Nothing prepares you for the sheer scale of the rock.
Nothing prepares you for the sheer scale of the rock. Sometimes the top was obscured by clouds. Eastern Beach is just pure sand although the water was still very cold even mid afternoon. Queues for the cable car & nature reserve can be slow & tedious, but once at the top a visit to St Michael's cave is a must, the Awakening is magical. Do beware of the monkeys, they can be a bit boisterous at times especially if they can see food. Be prepared for a lot of walking going around the reserve, and some steep slopes. I am bias as since being based here in the late seventies I have always enjoyed coming back. it can get very hot. There is the most magnificent easy walk from Europa point back to town best done after 7.30 pm as it gets cooler and take your time for a splendid sunset over SpainGuest review byAnonymous - 10.0

A safe interesting place. The vast majority speak English and Spanish. The Gibraltarians are fiercely British. There is loads of history here. Lots to see and visit. There are also fishing trips and dolphin watching. Loads of places to eat and drink. There are some good deals on perfumes and spirits. We love it. We had good food at The Clipper, Bianca’s, Little Bay and the Vietnamese restaurant at Ocean Village. We caught a bus from the airport that cost £3.20 for two, the instructions were easy to follow online. We know this as we had a flight cancelled staying in a hotel beforehand . During our 2 night stay there was nothing at all I found myself needing.
