Just off the main Road into Whitby, which is very handy for getting into Whitby and the moors. It has a very good butchers, bakers, fish and chip shop and small convenience store. Great location for exploring North York Moors and East Coast...
Great location for exploring North York Moors and East Coast. It has a train station with access to Pickering and Whitby. The North York M0ors steam railway is very close by with its main base as Grosmont. Plenty of beautiful moorland walks in the vicinity. Whitby is close by with lots going on.. In terms of beaches, I recommend Robin Hood's Bay for rockpools or fossil hunting at Sandsend. In my opinion, the best beach in the area is at Runswick Bay. It has long stretches of sand and rock pools. Although there is a steep hill from the beach to the car park, we were able to bring the car down on to the beach to allow access for my elderly father and then take it back up the hill to park.Guest review byRoseytoesUnited Kingdom - 10

Sleights has a fantastic butchers where you can get almost everything! There is a really nice bakery too - Bothams with delicious pastries and a good selection of breads.
