Attention from the hosts was brilliant! We had an initial tour upon arrival, and anything we needed, they were there to help us. The decoration and atmosphere of the place was very unexpected and amazing! It was friendly, tasteful and welcoming. The manor was quiet during our stay, so we were able to enjoy it almost for ourselves, including a long chat on the sofa after the cream tea and the swimming pool. Emma, the spa consultant, was just brilliant! Had an amazing 60 minute massage, and could have stayed for much longer! The attention to detail was amazing. Homemade cookies waiting for us in the room, and a bag with muffins for our journey back. Breakfast was just perfect. With a buffet and freshly cooked hot food to chose from, it was was an experience in itself.

Its a beautiful property in the grounds of a wood and built into a wooded hill and looked very Scandinavian. Quirky modern interior at reception, clean rooms, fantastic spa, excellent breakfasts. Dinner and lunch very good with friendly, engaging staff who were surprisingly young but everyone had a superb professional and friendly demeanor. Very impressive all round and thankfully the bar staff can make good cocktails.

Remodeled from top to bottom with the utmost taste. I was impressed with the level of quality of everything in the room for the price of the room. They really chose the best of everything. The bathroom and shower were heavenly. The restaurant was good, the breakfast was unbelievable. Service was excellent. All in all, super impressed with the place, that felt like a 4 star hotel right after refurbishment. We'll be back

We loved everything! It is a lovely, roomy and comfortable house to stay in. Lily is an amazing host who adds lots of special touches throughout the house so you feel very pampered. Lily is on hand for anything you need. We highly recommend staying here if you want to explore Cornwall. It was the most relaxing accommodation we had in our whole 5 week trip around the UK.

St Austell town centre is dated and needs some TLC , but around the ring round is everything you need to make your stay great. Big Asda, lots of resteraunts, and the usual chains. There is some amazing beaches, countryside, walks in and around St Austell. And , it's a brilliant base for all things Cornwall, very well connected. Carlyon and Petewan beaches are fantastic. All in all, really good.

St Austell is a run down and neglected town hard to navigate and not much to see. Charlestown is a delightful harbor with a good choice of restaurants and bars a bit of a shame that the harbor is being worked on but it has to be done. Then further south you have Pentewan a beautiful beach within a holiday complex lots of activities for the little ones and a good beach cafe.

We wanted to visit the Eden project. This was the main reason for our visit. However there is a lot to do in this area especially when the weather is good. We visited Looe area. We would have liked to visit some of the lovely gardens in this area. We wish we had stayed another couple of days.

The location, garden, ambience and tranquility is awesome. The fact that I was likened to one of the cottage tea shop staff by an elderly caucasian male who presumably was a guest because of the colour of my dark skin wasn't pleasant at all.

St Austell encompasses a vast array of villages both in land and coastal so a blanket review of 'St Austell' is meaningless. St Austell town has all the amenities you would need but cannot be said to be pretty. However the numerous coastal villages and country house and Eden Project make the area a good base. Just dont bother with the town itself except for supermarkets.

This was a very last minute booking following my parents and sister being let down by another accommodation provider and having no where to stay at 5pm in the evening. I booked online and then contacted the hotel to let them know when they were coming, somewhat stressed (!!) and they helped arrange putting wine in the room for their arrival. The hotel was already making the room up for them. They were made very welcome by lovely staff and a very unfortunate situation was made far better - thank you very much.

the location was perfect for The Eden Project and the Lost Hardens of Heligan. We walked to Carlyon Bay for a beach day and found places to eat close by in Charlestown and Mevagissey. The hotel is stylish and welcoming with a choice of places to relax indoor and outdoors. Their cream tea and breakfasts were amazing! Also, there were lovely touches like a bag hung on our door every morning with homemade muffins for a pre breakfast treat.

The location is fantastic with its wide view of the Carlyon Bay. It's also very peaceful being away fromthe main road on a private road. The breakfast was sumptious and the staff very responsive and helpful. The entire hotel has a slightly old-world air but I think this is intentionally so and that's part of its charm.

very pleasant staff, but they could do with a larger sign at the entrance, as at the moment it's quite easy to miss the entrance too much bracken covering the entrance sign, plus the road into the hotel has far too many potholes some very dangerous, needs resurfacing if possible
