The location is exceptional. You are next to the big shopping centre, bars, restaurants. The view is fabulous. Breakfast was delicious. Good sausage, not the cheep stuff. Staff was very nice. And it was very cold outside, the hotel was toasty warm.

From the moment I walked in I was made to feel very welcome. The check in was easy and quick. I needed to extend my stay because my ferry was cancelled. Sarah on reception worked out a solution , even though the hotel was fully booked. Rooms were lovely, breakfast and dinner were delicious and the water was hot. A perfect stay. I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed for one night at the Florence Suite Boutique Hotel. Although the standard room with shower was comfortable, the bathroom was very small. We had dinner at the restaurant, which was excellent, and the mushroom tagliatelle was superb. We did have a walk out around the area, which brought us ten minutes away to a variety of pubs and shops, stopped for a drink at The Vaults, the beer I can report from my husband was very good.

Portsmouth has a wide variety of interesting places to visit but I wouldn't describe it as a seaside holiday resort. It is a city. Southsea front has museums but the beach is rather stony and wouldn't be to everyones' taste.

We came to Portsmouth for a specific sailing event - SailGP - over two days. Also excellent opportunity to visit Naval Dockyard with Explorer Pass being great value for money. We were mostly around Gunwharf Quay, along seafront to Southsea Common and at Naval Dockyard - impressed by how clean streets in these areas were.

No extra cost for parking on forecourt, but space is not guaranteed. Lovely hotel - lots of history related to the navy, Napolean and military in Portsmouth. Staff extremely helpful. Great breakfast - full selection - hot and cold. Had fish and chips and steak dishes in the restaurant - very good portions and thoroughly enjoyable. Clean towels given out for pool each time. Room serviced every day. Extra milk and coffee supplied for room on request. Excellent location near harbour and Gunwharf shopping.

The location is very convenient as it is very close (a few mins walk) to the Portsmouth Harbour train station and the Wightlink ferry station to the Isle of Wight. We could not try their breakfast in the hotel as our ferry was before the breakfast start time, but the staff was kind enough to offer to prepare it ahead and give us the packed breakfast during our checkout. It was satisfactory. The room was simple and clean, and everything was functional.

A nice hotel in a quiet location easily reached by local busses. It's a long way but you can walk it from Portsmouth Harbour. If so make sure you go via the magnificent Gunwharf Quays and coastline. Steve was very helpful and welcoming. A nice clean comfy bed. Good value for money.
