I arrived and was greeted by the very friendly and welcoming Leven team - hotel staff are generally smiley anywhere you stay but at Leven, it felt like I was coming home. On opening the door to my room, I was very impressed. Of course, there are pictures on the website so I kinda knew what to expect but photos can only show how things look but not how everything feels and the attention to quality and luxury became immediately obvious and continued throughout, there was not an inch of the room that didn't exude the perfect combination of comfort and elegance. The bathroom was just exquisite, the bed was beautifully comfortable and the floor-to-ceiling view of the city was simply wonderful to wake up to and also savour with a morning cuppa on the terrace. There were so many little touches throughout the room that all contributed to the absolutely perfect stay and while this was my first visit to Leven, I know it's certainly not my last. I don't think I'll ever book anywhere else.

Manchester city centre seemed clean and visitor friendly, plenty of street signs pointing to local attractions and a very good transport system. A bustling city with an amazing grouping of buildings young and old. We were visiting Bridgewater Hall (a truly fantastic concert venue) and found the Leonardo Hotel (opposite) to be an excellent choice. Plus, both were within easy walking distance from a main line railway system.

The Science and Industry Museum and the Art Gallery are...

The Science and Industry Museum and the Art Gallery are worth a visit. There are surprising pockets of history like Castlefield and Deansgate but they are hidden and need to be discovered. But overall the city is a hodge-podge of bad architecture including a lot of new tall towers placed senselessly throughout the city. The Chapel Street where the hotel is located is visually depressing - rundown buildings and dirty lanes wherever one looks. Obviously there seemed to be no city planning vision and willingness to keep the city clean. Streets are dirty, garbage all over especially in side streets and along the canals. Eating out is expensive for this type of city and 10 - 12.5% service charge is common. Trains station and airport are outdated and not up to snuff. But that is the reason for travelling to experience the unknown.

Manchester was such a fun and vibrant city to explore! Between shopping at the mall and a few amazing thrift stores, I found some real gems. The food was great, and the cocktails were even better — every spot had its own charm. I loved the mix of history, fashion, and energy here — can’t wait to come back!

We liked the position of the hotel a little outside Manchester City centre but has an good 10 minute bus journey into Manchester. The hotel staff were friendly but professional, our room was excellent, comfortably appointed with all the amenities for our stay. Everything in the room was spotlessly clean. The grab and go breakfast was delicious with a good menu choice. Will definitely be staying again.

The staff where amazing. The food was amazing. Location is awesome, not even a 5 min walk to Ao arena, only 5 min walk into the city centre, plenty of pubs and restaurants by it. Manchester cathedral is literally a 1 min walk from Hotel and in my opinion a must see absolutely stunning outside and inside.

Room price obviously hiked for the Oasis gigs and wouldn’t ordinarily pay the room price for this sort of hotel. Only a few minutes walk from Manchester Piccadilly train station, so in the city centre. Very comfortable beds. Inviting bar/lounge area in reception area with modern, funky furniture.
