My wife liked it because the bedroom was hot. It was like an oven. We could have turned the radiator off, but in winter it was nice to not be cold. Staff were great.

Fantastic people and atmosphere at the Compasses Inn was exactly what we were looking for during our trip to the countryside of the UK. We stumbled upon a festival and had a great time at The Plum. All the staff were helpful and welcoming. One of the few places where dogs feel great and can enjoy the time with their owners. Really recommend this accommodation for all those that seek tranquility, nature, lovely people and tasty food with some local beers and vines. Everything was authentic, fresh and locally-made. Hands down the best English breakfast we ever had and probably the coziest and most picturesque cottage we have seen.

Excellent location, farmhouse in a peaceful hamlet surrounded by trees and bushes while close to major sights. Debbie was a wonderful host. Lavish breakfasts. Bathroom is a few meters away across the corridor, not en-suite, but you have basically the whole floor for yourselves and we felt perfect privacy all the time. It way like a stay in 2nd home to us. I came to stay because James May showed off his newly co-owned pub on YouTube. I knew immediately it would be a pleasant stay, but in reality it was even better. There was not a single thing out of order. The food was wonderful, the staff friendly and the room very comfortable. I felt very welkome from start to finish. The pub itself is situated in beautiful countryside with many places to explore. If I get the chance, I will definitely come back to this lovely place.

The room was immaculate. It is small so would be cosy for a couple but certainly perfect as a solo traveller. I couldn’t fault Jess and Steve who offered a really warm welcome and were happy to help with any queries throughout my stay. The local pub, The Royal Oak, is only a 5 minute walk away and a great place for drinks or food as you need.

Everything was very tastefully arranged. The bed was comfortable and the location was wonderful. David and the team were absolutely amazing. If we will come back in the area we’ll definitely book again :)

A lovely old pub.

A lovely old pub. Very comfortable accommodation perfect for a good night's sleep, and lovely think towels and good shower. Breakfast was fabulous with plenty of choices and lots of fresh fruit etc available. Evening meal good too. A delightful village and lots of nearby places to explore.

Friendly landlord offered me coffee upon arrival after long solo drive. The room had fresh coffee and cafetière. Bath most welcome to unwind and soothe aches after 3 hour drive. The purpose of the visit was to attend a wedding in a nearby village.

We didn't get to spend much time in Hindon but the...

We didn't get to spend much time in Hindon but the neighborhood we were in was very lovely. We walked around a bit after we checked in, before we sat down for dinner. We didn't have a chance to go into any shops as it was late when we arrived but we very much enjoyed our stroll around the area.

The Lamb Inn looks very much as good in reality as it does in the photos. The pub itself has loads of historic character, very atmospheric and is tastefully renovated as are the guest rooms combining modern elements while retaining and respecting its heritage and sense of history. Its location in the beautiful picturesque village of Hindon is also a great plus and a pleasure to walk around. A very good base to explore the Wiltshire countryside and nearby areas.

I normally stay at branded hotels but decided to choose something a bit more independent. The staff were excellent - friendly and cheerful. The food was good and made to order.
