Some good hotels and shopping but a lot of tired looking places needing a lick of paint. Beware of Traffic Wardens who were out at 8.00am Sunday morning checking vehicles had paid for parking. It has a huge shopping centre and plenty of places to eat and drink. A couple of theatres and a bandstand with musical events, weather permitting. A little train which was fun to ride and gave us a good view from one end of the town to the other. Lovely town, chilled with a great vibe.
Lovely town, chilled with a great vibe. Don’t expect wild parties but if you’re after some live music and a pint you will not be disappointed- we enjoyed a band performance on a pier in the afternoon followed by Phil Collins tribute in the evening. We loved Eastbourne and it’s a great base from which to explore the South Downs. Very scenic bus route along the coast to Brighton from right outside the hotel. The town centre is undergoing upgrades, so appearance is not as usual. I would say Eastbourne is great for older people like us but perhaps not so much for youngsters.
