The room size was significantly bigger than the 4 star hotels in the vicinity. The decor and cleanliness of the entire hotel was more like a 4 star hotel than the current 3 star rating. The breakfast was amazing and again more in keeping with a hotel of higher star rating.

The beach was lovely & it was a nice walk along the pier. We found a lovely independent restaurant called Rostock, highly recommend & not a chain. We were there just for a couple of days, so didn’t go by car, but stayed along the beachfront.

Some good hotels and shopping but a lot of tired looking places needing a lick of paint. Beware of Traffic Wardens who were out at 8.00am Sunday morning checking vehicles had paid for parking. The Langham Hotel on the esplanade provides good food and accommodation at a reasonable price.

It has a huge shopping centre and plenty of places to eat and drink. A couple of theatres and a bandstand with musical events, weather permitting. A little train which was fun to ride and gave us a good view from one end of the town to the other. It was difficult to cross over the main road to the beach in places as there didn't seem to be any pedestrian crossings or many traffic lights.

Lovely town, chilled with a great vibe. Don’t expect wild parties but if you’re after some live music and a pint you will not be disappointed- we enjoyed a band performance on a pier in the afternoon followed by Phil Collins tribute in the evening. There are also some great walking routes if that’s your thing! We will definitely be back next summer!

We loved Eastbourne and it’s a great base from which to explore the South Downs. Very scenic bus route along the coast to Brighton from right outside the hotel. The town centre is undergoing upgrades, so appearance is not as usual. I would say Eastbourne is great for older people like us but perhaps not so much for youngsters. Live music several times a week at the Bandstand for tribute acts etc.

I really enjoyed staying at Seaview Sanctuary where I had a lovely bright, comfortable room overlooking the garden. Richard and Katie were so helpful and there was a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with delicious cakes, tea and coffee available for guests in the conservatory each afternoon. The position was perfect being so near the seafront and a short walk to the pier and town centre. I would recommend the guesthouse to anyone wanting a holiday by the sea in lovely Eastbourne.

The Alexandra Hotel is well located, an easy 15mins walk from the train station in Eastbourne. Its seafront location is stunning and right next to it there’s a charming street full of lovely cafes, shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is comfortable, the room we stayed was clean and lovely with sea views, nice bar and the staff is super nice. The breakfast was good. Overall, it was nice.
