Such an interesting town with lots of shops, a lovely park (Kings park) and beautiful surrounding countryside. Found a great and unusual restaurant by the canal. There is lots of free parking which makes your stay much easier. We were attending a wedding so picked The Elms as wasn't too far from the venue. Hotel was as expected from previous reviews. Main hotel was nice, friendly staff, really helpful. Our booking included either a cooked or continental breakfast. All freshly cooked, we also had drinks and food on first evening. Which was lovely. Free parking in large car park. Now for the negatives, I had booked this around six months ago, and asked for rooms to be together. We stayed in the converted stables, not the actual hotel. Our family had two rooms on ground floor that were spacious. Ours was on first floor, room a lot smaller, massive crack in bathroom sink, room extremely hot, there was a fan provided but was broken! overall rooms need some tlc. Rooms are clean and tidy, fresh towels and toiletries provided daily. Rooms just need a makeover and then would be excellent.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom
