Friendly staff, spacious clean room and wonderful bath! There was a nice seating area out fron of the hotel to have a drink or a bite to eat. Located right in the middle of town. We ate dinner and breakfast there and food was good.

We stayed for one night and absolutely loved it! The cottage was incredibly cosy, with every little detail thoughtfully put together. The design is beautiful – you can really see how much care and effort the owners have put into creating such a welcoming space. The highlight was the homemade organic wholemeal loaf left for us – such a lovely and unexpected surprise. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back soon.

    Unspoilt, unpretentious, relaxed small town with friendly people and fabulous cafe by the river. Great location for Cumbria and Northumberland, for walking and sightseeing. Solo travellers will feel at home here.

    This hotel is absolutely stunning I have stayed in some beautiful hotels all over the world this matches any 5 star. The decor of the hotel is amazing. Room and bed exceptional, bathroom was beautiful with luxury toiletries. Tea and coffee also a little fridge with fresh milk and complimentary drinks. The food was beautiful lovely menu. All the staff were friendly and attentive if I could give it a 50 I would.

    As I was travelling solo it was good to feel more like a house guest than a client in an impersonal hotel. I enjoy the warm ambience of personal photographs and antique artefacts in this village home.
