FAQs about hotels in Brighton & Hove

Colourful by Day and Night

Known for colourful nightlife and traditional English seaside pursuits, Brighton and neighbour Hove are the closest beach resorts to London, making them popular end points for classic car runs from the capital. Many end at the racecourse, a few streets from Brighton Marina, Europe’s largest, housing several shops and eateries. Many Brighton guest houses on Booking.com are also nearby.

Running along the beachfront is the world’s oldest operating electric railway, ending by Brighton Pier. Lit up at night and also known as Palace Pier, this city icon houses amusements and rides, and is one place to pick up some famous Brighton Rock, the confectionery sharing its name with an edgy Graham Greene novel set here.

A new addition, the Brighton Wheel is right by the pier, while one of its most famous attractions is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal retreat built in Indian style.

Just west are 2 of the most popular Brighton shopping spots – Churchill Square shopping centre and The Lanes with its narrow streets and unusual shops. This area also has several Brighton hotels with parking, and the Artists Quarter, a series of ex-fishing huts that are now galleries. The arts are a big thing here and Brighton Festival is the UK’s 2nd largest arts festival, while Brighton Pride is also a big event on the annual calendar.

The grandchildren loved the entertainment on the pier.

The grandchildren loved the entertainment on the pier. My daughter and I visited Brighton Pavilion, which is magnificent. We all loved the Lanes, an interesting area full of individual shops and restaurants. Brighton has a good, lively atmosphere. Would recommend!

Always a great place to visit.

Always a great place to visit. The Lanes are brilliant with so many varied and independent shops and eateries. Can be pricey. People are very friendly. Parking is expensive, so consider public transport.

Take the Hop on Hop Off bus initially to see everything then stop wherever you like. It was a great way to see things we might have missed and we learned a fair bit of history as well. Brighton is a delightful, quirky city that embraces everyone’s uniqueness and creativity. We particularly enjoyed the ‘devil-may-care’ attitude to fashion. Wonderful

After not being to Brighton for almost ten years we decided to see if f it was still as friendly and vibrant as we remembered , it was many of the places we used to visit may have changed management but were still as enjoyable , we will most certainly return again soon and we intend to stay at The Seaspray in the Eden suite again too. A short walk from the hotel was a small very popular Italian restaurant where we dined more than once , great food and a great price , The Marine Tavern again just a short stroll was as friendly and welcoming as we found it to be those years ago we are a heterosexual married couple in our 60’s The Marine Tavern is a small LGBTQ pub and we can honestly say we were made most welcome and the entertainment which was free was excellent .The Lanes both North and South were bustling and vibrant very few shops were boarded up unlike many other cities . We walked along the promenade and went on the pier which were very clean and well kept.

Took an overnight stay with my 3 children (9-16).

Took an overnight stay with my 3 children (9-16). Pebble beach, lots of area to walk with tide in. We went on a Saturday and the streets around town were bustling but everyone in good spirits. Lots of retro / unusual clothes shops, jewellery stalls, and lots of shops. An array of eating establishments from your standard Bella/Pizza brands through to hong kong take outs. Such a diverse area that everyone fits in and could feel comfortable. Pier was great. Very confusing over payment of rides as you need to buy a payment card then only some of the amusements would accept- others wanted individual payment. Every member of staff friendly including inside the end arcade.

Very vibey.

Very vibey. Excellent range of shops and market sellers in the North Lanes. The beaches are clean and there are some excellent coffee shops and restaurants on the promenade. The Brighton Dome and Brighton Centre host some really great acts. The art galleries are also varied and impressive.

Friendly and accommodating staff Comfortable bed Spacious room Nice shower Great location - right on the beach and minutes away from shops, and the Lanes I didn't have the breakfast as I wanted to go to The Breakfast Club, which is just around the corner I didn't get to use the spa / pool facilities, but this is a massive bonus for a hotel in Brighton Great value for money

This is a lovely old hotel, that has undergone significant refurbishment. It's in a great location on the seafront, near the Brighton Centre. Room was comfortable and contained everything that you would expect. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Would certainly stay again.
