In a lovely rural setting. We were able to visit, even walk to Cartmel and Grange easily. The food we ordered was delicious and good value. I had stayed at Uplands before and would like to stay there again.

The hotel manager Morgan really demonstrated exemplary hospitality. He personally drove us out of a storm to the hotel when the trains shut down and the taxis in the vicinity were not in service. He also upgraded our room when the storm affected WiFi in some parts of our hotel and saw to it that we were comfortable and cosy. 10/10 hospitality, and by far the absolute best travel experiences with a Hotel we've had and could've asked for (and it isn't even close!). Choose Beech Hill Hotel and Spa if you're in the vicinity. You'll be well taken care of : )

The greyhound inn was an amazing place to stay! We loved every second of our stay and was honestly sad our stay ended. The room was absolutely immaculate and the beds were so comfortable. We had everything we needed provided such as clean bedding with blankets, toiletries with fresh towels, tea coffee and sugar with a kettle, WIFI and TV. The staff was absolutely amazing and such lovely down to earth people and i honestly can’t thank them enough for the attention to detail and done everything and more to make our stay an absolute pleasure. The greyhound is a beautiful pub in the heart of the countryside within the Lake District. The prices were more than reasonable and there it was so lovely to have a meal and drinks of an evening and had a real sense of comfort. We would 100% be booking to come back and stay again. I would lastly like to say a special thank you to Lisa for making our stay so perfect. Our time at the greyhound was so perfect and we can not wait to come back again. Thank you all so much.

Bouth is a tiny village at the bottom of the Lakes.

Bouth is a tiny village at the bottom of the Lakes. It was perfect for our stay, just 20 minutes by car up to Bowness. We were here to ride the Cumbrian Heavy Horses in Millom so was ideal for what we needed. The food at the hotel was very good as was the food at The Manor where we ate on the Monday night as The White Hart does not do food on a Monday. The Manor was just 10 mins away by car so we got to enjoy two places to eat.

Dinner was expensive for 'ok' food - the desert of syrup sponge and custard was poor - the custard had split and tasted odd - so decided against booking breakfast for £15 and instead had a perfect breakfast at the local Booths supermarket for £5. There were nice tables set within the pub area, which had a nice atmosphere - but for some reason us and others guests were given tables in the hotel entrance area which felt like a dentists waiting room and largely ignored.

Excellent breakfast choices, the best we have ever encountered. There was a wonderful mural in the breakfast room as well as a lovely view out of the large windows. Friendly, helpful staff and a lovely evening meal. The pub/hotel had many quirky features and plenty of history behind it as it was an old building with character. We saw deer in the field as we pulled into the pub car park near a wood. The bed was comfy with good room facilities and clean.

I only used the room but that was very clean, comfortable and had no issues. Had planned initially to eat in the restaurant but ended up going out for a walk and found a village pub a couple of miles away and decided to eat there! Hotel has plenty of off road parking, bonus!
