The caretakers were awesome. It was easy to organise everything through the owner. Diving and snorkeling next door. Great kitchen set up. Insane views! Comfortable bed and living space . So peaceful and private.

The snorkelling out the back of the hotel was lovely. There was a large staff to customer ratio which meant there was always someone to help you. Lots of lovely plants at the hotel and the rooms were nice. Free water refills is always appreciated.

If you think about Homestay experience, this is the perfect place ! Sarah and Sam are absolutely amazing! More than helpful, really kind and mindful! Thank you for your kindness and knowledge! Home is close to the airport and a bus stop. Sarah and Sam have really good tips on how to visit the island and will adapt to your way of traveling:) The food is absolutely great, and I garanty, you won't leave the table hungry ;) The room was clean and tidy, with everything you need, even a newly added AC ! Location was beautiful with bures directly above the sandy beach. Great swimming and snorkeling directly in front of resort and surf break only 2km out in front. Manager & staff were amazing - super friendly, great service and really helpful. The food was very good and meals with Spanish Mackerel were exceptional. Private, peaceful and relaxing with plenty to do. The full day around island snorkeling tour with picnic and smoked fish on the beach was a highlight. Incredible coral and fish on the 5 snorkeling sites we were taken to.

I had a perfect time with the most lovable Fiji family homestay. Sia, Charley, Jima and all the boys cared a lot for me and we had an amzing time together! Sia ist the best cook in all of Fiji, better then in restaurant i can tell, love her veggi food, fresh fish, curry and lots of fruits every day..i went horse riding with Charley, with the boys on the boat to honeymoon island for snorcheling, the reef is directly in front the homestay, amazing natural landscape! Pete the driver took me to lavena coastal walk in national park and drives you everywhere on Taveuni 😀i loved the cute dogs and the kids in the village are so fun. My room was nice, i had my own little cozy space and Sia and everyone makes everything perfect, helping me with all questions, embracing me like a daughter (as i'm travelling on my own), i felt welcome like at home. Got emerged in the real Fiji life, I came as guest and left as friend. This family is a jewel and i will never forget this beautiful time with them!

My partner and I stayed at Camp Taveuni for four nights. We originally booked the small twin room but upgraded to the larger en-suite when we arrived. Tons of space and a super comfortable bed. No AC, but the two large fans were more than sufficient given the relatively mild temps when we were there (low 80s). We appreciated the filtered water from the bathroom tap and that the room was tidied up every day while we were out. Allen really made our time in Taveuni. He picked us up from the airport and gave us a brief tour of town to help us get our bearings. He made sure we were always set with activities and dinner plans for the next day (with no pressure to do or book anything in particular) and facilitated interactions between his guests. His extensive local knowledge was invaluable. Don't miss out on the Lavena Coastal Walk or the kayaking trip out to the islands (but make sure the tide isn't too low to easily navigate the reef!). A few other details: the property is located up a dirt road close to town. It can be a bit muddy if it's been raining, but we walked to and from the Dive Cafe multiple times without issue. We also enjoyed the two dogs (including a chaotic but adorable puppy) and the cat on the property. We were able to do laundry for a reasonable price, and there was a washing station and hanging lines for our wet clothes when we came back from activities. Overall, we had a fantastic time in Taveuni and would highly recommend staying at Camp Taveuni as an alternative to the resorts.

We booked two nights at Aroha and on the day we arrived we extended our stay because this place IS paradise. The bungalows are clean and I mean clean clean. Also the pool is probably one of the cleanest I have ever swum in. The beds are so comfy, the outdoor shower was great as you can see the stars when showering. The owners payed attention to so many details and you can just feel they put their heart into making Aroha a special place. They have a little restaurant and we went there every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner and every single meal was delicious (Krish the chef did an amazing job). The staff is kind and they really try to make the best out of your stay. We felt so welcomed. Aroha has new owners since the beginning of the year and they made some changes to the furniture so the bungalows were even nicer than on the pictures. Another thing is their new coffee machine, the coffee was excellent! The garden and the property are well maintained, the beach is only five steps away from the bungalows and you can see a beautiful sunset every night.
