I visited this town many times and I find nothing new.
I visited this town many times and I find nothing new. The radio-communication museum is excellent. A short distance from this museum there is a little lake. If the weather is hot a bathing/swimming there is the right activity. (and after that, the cakes!) From Patria there is a short walk to the Museum and my favorite mini lake. Lahti is only an hour from Helsinki. We went for a triathlon but it would be great for anyone who loves the great outdoors. The 50m outdoor pool is a highlight and there are a lots of lakeside activities - we did paddleboarding. Lots of hiking options and the locals are extremely friendly and welcoming. The scooters (Tier) are excellent for nipping around the town and they are cheap too. There are lots of paths and cycleways so it is perfectly safe. You can also use bikes but they are a lot heavier and more expensive. The town itself is not too special but it is the open areas, the space, the countryside, the lake etc that make it a great destination. We hired a car from Helsinki airport and the driving to Lahti is easy with lots of options for parking too. We went in June and it was super hot - which apparently isn't normal!
