Have to say this was better than our expectations. We had done a lot of research and settled on Lava Beach Hotel due to the reviews. Firstly all the staff are great, very friendly and hard working to please everyone. The staff in the bars and restaurants are really attentive and switched on. The food is outstanding with a buffet selection to make your eyes pop… and your belly!... Soo much choice and it tastes amazing. The room was brilliant with more than you could expect. We had a suite over looking the pool and could not fault it. Very clean and packed with lots of nice touches… very luxurious! There are 2 pools and an outside jacuzzi. The bottom pool is only 0.4m in depth with 4 built in jacuzzi style loungers and definitely good fun to use. This was a very tranquil hotel especially around the pool, at times you could hear a pin drop. I think everybody appreciated that. One of the best things is they have a sun lounger policy. You cannot reserve one by dumping things on them before 10am. Either you have to be on it (or obviously in the pool), or they will remove everything. Works a treat! … There are more than enough very comfy sun loungers for everyone all in good positions! A very clean and modern hotel, yet has charm and warmth. There is a lot of attention to detail which if you watch the staff you will see, even using a spoon & fork to place the serviette's on the table. The Spa is great and shouldn't be overlooked as it has some nice facilities of its own. The 60min back and neck treatment I received was incredible.

During our stay we only ate breakfasts, lunches & dinners at Lani's Gourmet Restaurant - all excellent. Access to beach was very good and no traffic noise. All staff were warm and welcoming "a family". We made use of the beauty salon, staff were considerate to our needs, relaxed ambiance, creating a fully pleasurable experience.

    We have been to Puerto Del Carmen many times over 20 years, we love the relaxed Harbour area in particular, the strip is not really our thing. It's about a quiet holiday in the sun for us. There is a good variety of restaurants between the apartment area and the harbour.

    Puerto del Carmen is a central place, very convenient for the airport and well connected, but not the best place to visit nor has the best beaches. To reach the best beaches from Puerto del Carmen you need a car or a text. I’d recommend Playa Chica, Playa Dorada, Playa de Papagayo. We eat very well at our hotel, Lava Beach (buffet with lots of different choices every day) and great Spanish cuisine at El Molino. The other restaurants in the area are very touristic. Also check out Casa Tere a bit further- great fresh fish- and La Carmencita, which requires booking. Plata Blanca area is nicer than puerto del Carmen and also Princess Yeyza- and there are lots of restaurants and shops.

    The Hotel was lovely and very central either way the walks to and from the other areas were well maintained with most being only for walking and cycling. No harsh selling of any goods nice choice of restaurants for dinner. Many many Irish bars!

    PDC is an ideal location, for families and couples.

    PDC is an ideal location, for families and couples. Great beaches,lots of shops bars and restaurants. Fabulous transport links and excursions. A great blend of old and new, without the disgusting tower block architecture of other tourist countries. The weather is ideal neither too hot or cold and the breeze keeps the flies and mosquitos away. What's not to like♥️

    Great place, but the neighboring Playa Grande is even better...

    Great place, but the neighboring Playa Grande is even better than Lis Pocillos, recomment to go there, even if it’s about 3 km. Definitely worth to rent a car, as buš transport is good, but limited to certain places. Parking around the hotel without problem.

    We go to Puerto del Carmen a couple of times a year and find it a great place to visit. It has something for everyone visiting our favorite restaurants like lomo alto, el polaco casa Cabana and a fantastic Spanish restaurant in the old Town called la cascada definitely not to be missed

    The best thing of this hotel was the staff in the restaurant, big shout out to the friendly chefs , specially Tony and Luis and all the lovely waiters/waitresses. The second best thing of hotel is that is right by the sea and in a much quieter location , 5km/3 miles towards the airport from Puerto del Carmen. Very close to airport . The planes were not a bother. The place feels open , fresh , like being outdoors. My room was very spacious and had a nice bathroom and a sunny balcony. All very quiet and just what I needed.

    Everything was absolutely perfect in La Isla y El Mar Hotel. Can't fault anything. The room with pool view was perfect, the breakfast was amazing, the restaurant meals delicious, perfect location in Puerto Del Carmen and all the staff were really brilliant, friendly, helpful and provided a fabulous service. I would very highly recommend this hotel and my wife and I will certainly be returning. It's one of the best holiday's we've had. The perfect hotel in which to celebrate our 30 years of marriage.

    Our stay in Puerto del Carmen was absolutely wonderful, largely thanks to this accommodation. The apartment was very well equipped, located in a quiet gated community with beautiful views of palm trees and parrots. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach and restaurants, yet private and peaceful at the same time. The host was amazing - kind, welcoming, and always helpful. We truly felt at home here, and this place is one of the reasons why we will definitely return to Lanzarote.

    Clean and apartments were a great size with everything needed for a self catering stay. Most apartments in puerto del carmen are on a hill and this is no different- you can walk up ‘cardiac hill’ or find alternative ‘zig zag’ routes which may be easier for those who struggle up hills!
