The location on the cathedral square cannot be better. The hotel is in an expertly adapted and renovated fine historic building with a remarkable Art Nouveau façade, perfectly maintained. Spacious, nicely appointed, immaculately clean rooms. The front rooms command a great view on the square and cathedral. Breakfast was fine, a good choice of tasty food served in a charming interior - feels almost like being a guest in a family house.

The staff was amazing and friendly. The rooftop bar was the best place to hang out and work from in the evenings. The location is 4mins away from the beach and close to all the restaurants and bars. There is a taxi rank close to the hotel too if you want to travel the city by taxi. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard and had a japanese toilet which was a life changer. We had a fridge in our room to store bottles of water and kept them very cold. Will definitely consider this hotel again if I were to ever return to Las Palmas.

The location was great, right in the old city center, next to Colon's house, restaurants and the main street were all the stores are. This is a beautiful renovated hotel, with a very nice terrace and view of the cathedral. The highlight was the friendly staff, from the manager to all the people that work there, such as Manuel, Carolina, Alejandro they were so kind and accommodating, helping us at all times with the booking of our transportation and restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was delicious- (best pancakes I've had), good in portions and very high quality and many options as well. Bedrooms have very comfortable beds and linens and are quiet so you really get a good rest. The hotel decoration and landscaping of the terrace have been carefully curated and it feels like a modern but warm place at the same time. Fantastic customer service, I cannot emphasize this enough. If we ever go back to Gran Canarias we for sure will stay there again!

OMG! I have only few words about our one night stay. We absolutely LOVED our Atico Suite! LOVED, LOVED, LOVED! The location, the house itself, the interior architecture solutions, the decor - everything was just up to our taste! The girls working downstairs were also both very helpful and lovely. Breakfast had all we needed and everything was super tasty.. coffee was super quality and made to order, selection of cakes - OMG! I wish we could stay in Suites 1478 for days! Sadly we have chosen the nomadic lifestyle of traveling and were driving around the island. Because we got in a bad traffic on the highway on our way there, we arrived later, but we were warmly greeted. Thank you for that! We loved our room from the first seconds and that is why we decided to arrange our dinner from the upstairs honesty bar and just enjoyed our room - thanks especially for that opportunity! We just did not want to leave our comfy beautiful rooftop room!

The hotel exceeded my expectations and would want to stay there again if I return to Gran Canaria. The staff are very friendly and the place is lovely and comfortable. It is a fantastic location as well.

Colourful Capital of Sun and Shopping

The Gran Canaria capital, Las Palmas offers everything that the Canaries stand for: year-round sun, fantastic beaches and great nightlife. However, the largest city of this volcanic island group is more than just a beach resort - its mix of traditional and modern makes it stand out from the crowd.

Colourful Colonial façades line Calle Triana, a top shopping street, while the out-of-town Las Arenas shopping complex is much more contemporary in design. The El Muelle shopping centre is near Parque Santa Catalina and the surrounding restaurants, bars and clubs are focal points of Las Palmas nightlife, together with the historic Vegueta district.

Vegueta is also home to Santa Ana cathedral, best viewed from the palm-lined square which houses the Canary Island Museum. Around the corner is the Casa Museo de Colón, where Columbus stayed en route to America. No doubt he sailed from huge Puerto de la Luz whose numerous vessels are guarded by a lighthouse and stone castle.

On the opposite side of the promontory is long Las Canteras beach, lined by a promenade providing great mountain views in both directions. The 5-star hotels by the beach are just some of Booking.com’s Las Palmas accommodation options, alongside cheap guest houses and apartments, all linked by coastal road to Gran Canaria Airport.

    Getting around was easy as the buses were cheap and frequent. It was hard at times to find restaurants selling vegan food but we cooked most evenings. The market in the old city was lovely and the Hiper Dino had a good selection of food for us. The aquarium was amazing and well worth the entrance fee. Not many English stay in Las Palmas so it felt very Spanish/Canarian which suited us. We spent an enjoyable evening on the roof terrace of the Santa Catalina hotel. Well worth the visit.

    Travelling from the US to Las Palmas was a bit of a challenge to get to. Long flights, lengthy lay overs, and time zone changes were taxing. That, aside, I highly recommend the restaurant Casa Roja on the beach The food was magnificent. The beach was wonderful without being bombarded by those selling trinkets and other items.

    Las Palmas is a charming city with a special place in my heart, but after a month, I found it better suited for a shorter stay unless you have specific plans. I often traveled to the sunnier south—especially Maspalomas and my favorite, Puerto Rico—for the beaches and vibrant atmosphere. In Las Palmas, I mostly ate at Taberna Chica (there are several close by), where the service was great and the food tasty—though the cocktails were always very strong! For top-notch drinks, Pandora Lounge/Bar is a must-visit—slightly pricier, but worth it. Also, don’t miss the beautiful old town of Las Palmas for a more historic vibe.

    Fantastic place to visit, lots of restaurants, bars and cafes to choose from. Visited Las Canteras beach, Las Palmas old town, the marina and Castello de Luz. Went to Venezuelan, Cuban and Italian restaurants, all fab. Used local buses to get to Old Town, very easy.

    Excellent beach although my husband doesn’t like the water. If there longer would have lived by the water. Rented a car and drove the island and into the mountains to tour around. Playa de mogan beach and area was lovely. Azulejos de Veneguero was a nice short drive from mogan into mountains to see the amazing rock colors if you like that sort of thing. The dunes were as stunning as expected. Great access through Riu hotel archway. Thanks Riu! Prickly pears were so cool but don’t try to pick them! Firgus is a great stop and nice lunch near the main promenade exhibit. Arucas was a lovely walk around and rum tour. Roadway infrastructure is amazing but make sure you have a map app!

    Everything about the apartment,location,beach,and host was excellent. Jacobo our host was brilliant, nothing was too much. The apartment was very spacious, clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location to the beach was around 50 metres. The bus station was within walking distance and very easy to get around Las Palmas and beyond on the buses. Never been to Gran Canaria and can highly recommend the Island and weather in December was great always around 20/22 degrees.

    I am returning to this place every time I am vacationing on Gran Canaria. One of my best places in Las Palmas located direct on the beach with stunning views over the sea and Pico de Teide. All that makes each time from your vacation just a magical experience.. definitely worth of visiting.
