The whole street was dug up and the smell of sewer was appalling. Everywhere we went there were smells and noise. Food wasnt great in the street seating areas. Very small portions and ober priced. Apart from that the city is great. Went to see Lady Gaga and queued for 5km to get in. Not run very well.

Every city in Spain is different.

Every city in Spain is different. In Barcelona, we joined free guided tours about modern history, and it was a very special experience. As for the food, we followed the locals’ recommendations when choosing restaurants and were very satisfied. For our transportation, we mainly used the metro and the train to get to the airport. As a group of friends, we were cautious, but overall, we felt safe despite the warnings about pickpocketing.

Barcelona is one of my favorite cities in the world.

Barcelona is one of my favorite cities in the world. It has a unique atmosphere that combines history, art, and modern life in a truly inspiring way. Walking through its streets feels like moving through an open-air museum, especially with Gaudí’s amazing architecture at every turn. The beaches are beautiful and lively, offering a perfect place to relax, while the food scene is full of flavor and creativity. What I love most is the energy of the city—warm, vibrant, and welcoming. Every visit to Barcelona feels memorable, and I always look forward to coming back.

Arriving in Barcelona after an extended stay in Madrid was...

Arriving in Barcelona after an extended stay in Madrid was very refreshing and a welcome change. The city is clean (in comparison) and architecture is beautiful and historic. The metros are efficient and clean and there is plenty of food and drink for every taste. The biggest drawback is the sticker shock. Everything is double the price of Madrid and much more in line with NYC. This was our second visit to Barcelona (last one was 27 years ago) and it was amazing to see the progress on the Sagrada Familia. For that, it was worth the return trip. However, it was a huge let down to see the excessive prices on other things that were truly not worth it. We spent around 80 euros to visit Moco and were there a half hour (but that's another review) and were very disappointed to find that Park Guell is now charging 18 euros per person just to get to walk through a park. When I think of the gift that NY's Central Park is to all, as well as every park in every major city that I've visited for free, this feels like a real ripoff.

Barcelona is not just a destination — it’s a living work of...

Barcelona is not just a destination — it’s a living work of art. The city’s rhythm flows between its Mediterranean breeze and its vibrant urban pulse, blending history, creativity, and hospitality like few places in the world. Every corner tells a story: from the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter, where the echoes of medieval times linger, to the elegant avenues of the Eixample, where Gaudí’s masterpieces rise like dreams made of stone and color. The Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, and La Pedrera remind visitors that architecture can have a soul. But beyond its monuments, Barcelona’s greatest charm lies in its atmosphere. Mornings begin with the aroma of coffee and fresh pastries; afternoons stretch across sun-drenched terraces where locals and travelers mingle effortlessly; and evenings dissolve into music, conversation, and the scent of the sea. The seafront promenade invites long walks, from Barceloneta to Port Vell, where the statue of Christopher Columbus proudly points toward the horizon. From here, Las Ramblas come alive — a living artery of artists, flowers, and human energy. Barcelona is also a city of flavors: from traditional tapas in small bodegas to avant-garde tasting menus in Michelin-starred restaurants. Every bite, like every sight, seems designed to remind you that pleasure and culture coexist here in perfect balance. The people of Barcelona welcome you with authenticity — passionate yet polite, cosmopolitan yet deeply local. There’s an undeniable sense of pride in their heritage, but also a generous openness to the world. Barcelona is not just to be visited — it’s to be felt, breathed, and remembered. Few cities manage to combine beauty, creativity, and human warmth so effortlessly. It’s a place that touches the traveler and lingers long after the journey ends.

Great location in the city center of Barcelona, walking distance to many sights. Lot's of cafés and restaurants around. The room itself was very clean ,with beautiful minimal decorations. The staff was very friendly. There is a bus stop right outside of the hotel ,as well as a metro station nearby, which makes transportation to and from the hotel very easy.

Location is perfect, in the city center on walking distance from all main attractions and it's perfect to feel Barcelona city vibe. Beside location, I really liked the room, with spacious terrace and hot tube, and also direct access to hotel garden and pool. This hotel has 4 stars, but room we got is surely 5 star worth.
