This was my fourth trip to Dahab but my first in about 15 years. In my previous trips I loved the scuba diving and the relaxing vibe of the town. When I returned on this trip I was delighted to discover that, even though the town is bigger, Dahab has retained its low-key vibe. The businesses are local, which is part of its charm. This trip was shorter, so I mostly focused on scuba diving. There are lots of other activities, many of which I did on previous trips. In the evenings I went to restaurants. Many have patios, that overlook the red sea. Dahab tends to be a bit windy, so there often was always a nice ocean breeze to keep things cool as the sun set, Idyllic.Guest review byJoanCanada - 10.0

Dahab consists of two areas, Laguna and Dahab Poppy has the lighthouse beach. In the lighthouse area there are many businesses for entertainment. There is also the possibility of diving and excursions to areas nearby. The hotels are mainly 3 or 4 stars. The best spot, if you are not into diving, is the lighthouse area. As for the food, you must eat Egyptian and not European cuisine. Getting around Dahab is easy by renting a minivan. There is nothing you should avoid during your stay there. Dahab is a village with tourists from Egypt and Europe but not invasive. The center (called Mashraba) is nice and lively but not aggressive. In general locals are gentle and available to help and tourists are, in general, respectful. There are many types of beaches, free or paid, sandy or rocky, with coral reef or laguna style. Amazing the view from the mountains (from the north part of Dahab) there is a short trail to reach the top. In Dahab you have everything to find peace, silence and nature. I would say that it's exactly the opposite of Sharm. There are taxis and excursions at a reasonable price. It's possible to buy or rent bicycles or diving equipment. The staff couldnt do enough - moheen and mohamed adel at reception were exceptional. And the portee who took our bag to our room was so smiley and sweet. The hotel grounds were so beautiful.
