We had the great pleasure of visiting Engel 16 in Gutach, and from the very first moment we felt truly welcome. Astrid and Victor greeted us warmly with champagne and gave us an excellent introduction to the Black Forest area, especially the many beautiful hiking routes. They were always smiling, attentive, and genuinely kind. Victor, always smiling and polite, prepared the meals himself with the finest ingredients — and every dish was simply outstanding. Each morning, the breakfast buffet was perfectly prepared and ready for us, a wonderful way to start the day. Astrid made sure we enjoyed the perfect drinks and hospitality throughout our stay, which made us feel truly at home. All in all, Engel 16 is a beautiful and peaceful place with fantastic food and outstanding service. Thank you so much, Astrid and Victor, for this unforgettable stay! The location is really nice if you travel to Black forest, make you feel closer to the nature. All staffs there are very nice and friendly. Room is super, big and clean. I have to say, it is the best hotel I have ever booked. Both my husband and son like this hotel very much. Fantastic experience！

We decided to stay here very spontaneously but we are glad that we did. The room was exactly as pictured and very spacious. Everything was clean! We also enjoyed the balcony. The entire hotel is decorated beautifully and very thought through! You find nice little details all around the place. We also decided to have dinner in the restaurant downstairs and it was delicious!! Service was excellent and attentive. The food was cooked to perfection and the Manager made sure we had the best time. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and offered a wide range of local products. Everything a decent German breakfast should offer was available! Eggs were freshly made in the morning to your liking. Coffee, tea, juice, water everything was available. Service in general was outstanding and very welcoming.

The hotel is completely secluded off the main road with plenty of parking. The pools are warm and inviting. Included in the room price was a five course dinner which was very acceptable. All in all a good hotel and we’re sure to return.
