Cathedral is magnificent. Walk down the Rhine to the Chocolate museum and Sport Museum. Pass the houses of the old town and grab an ice cream. Visit a brewery - Peters Brauhaus is brilliant. Beautiful city, however, I think a 1-night trip is enough if you just want to see the city. We flew in on Friday evening and out on Sunday night, but we feel we would have been happy leaving on Saturday night. Please remember that most shops and other places don't open on Sundays, so we were walking around trying to find things to do. I highly recommend climbing the cathedral tower if you are able. It is a very vibrant, welcoming and friendly city. There are plenty of traditional brewery pubs with character ie Fruh, Gaffels Kolsh, Malzmuhle, Reissdorf. Very good atmosphere for beer drinkers. Very picturesque walking alongside the River Rhine at one of its widest points.
