A fantastic location close to Drake Bay and Corcovado National Park. The family owning the place is doing a great job, the rooms are made every day, the food tastes very good and they give advices and organize tours if requested. All this for a very fair price for the area. I recommend the place to everyone looking for a simple, yet very nice and authentic accommodation.

This stay was simply amazing. A lush garden full of flowers, iguanas a and birds. The room is unbelievable for the price. Really so beautiful. Around great mariscos. We had an awesome time here.

The location was amazing. Right in the middle of the jungle. Lot's of animals and birds arrownd. Lovely hosts, good food. Clean and comfortable room. We had cold water showers but didn't care. This is the Ideal place if you want an authentic and relaxed vacation. Not suitable for people who search for luxury... We fell in love in the stuff ❣️ had wonderful tours Which they recommended. Felt sorry to leave

No wonder Maresia is constantly rated 10 - I absolutely loved everything about it. What’s not to love about lying in a hammock watching toucans and macaws flying past!! Loved the outdoor shower. Staff were exceptional.

First of all the location of this Place is what makes it stand out, its elevated over looking Bahi Drake and the sunset views in the evening are breathtaking. Everything about the hotel is fantastic, Victor was the main man for all things during our stay, from checking us in to making oustanding cocktails by the pool. Our room was named Trogon and overlooked the bay, the suspended wooden cabin has all you need and situated on the balcony a hammock perfect for relaxing in. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, fine dining for dinner and the breakfast overlooking the bay, exceptional to see first thing in the morning also the coffee is made right in front of you as you look out over the ocean! The pool Area is fanstatic and you can look out over the ocean as you are in the pool, you can also access the beach from tha private entrance just a short walk down and over a hanging bridge. (you can see this from the pool) there is also a tower onsite you can get to which gives an amazing view from upon high (as long as heights dont bother you) Theres also plenty of wildlife around if you like that sort of thing, ( iguanas by the pool, even some Coattis roaming around ) every evening there were Macaws and Green parrots passing over and even some Toucans in the trees right next to our room! All in all an exceptional place to stay in the Drake area.

Amazing lodge in the centre of the jungle but still close to Drake Bay Town. Located in the joungle we could see tucans, parrots, dozens of monkeys just setting in the lodge or taking the shower :) it was very exciting to be so close to the nature. Drive by car to the Town taken 10 minute by dirty Road so car is useful. There is a lovely isolated beach half way. You will get the directions from the Lodge owner. At the lodge the host offers traditional food for brakfast and dinners of take awans at really competitive Price. In the Town there is also a variety of restaurants and bars. Amazing experience of being isolated in the jungle but at the same time so close to the town. Rooms really clean and property very tidy and clean.

Quality food, great staff Staff did put together a lot of stuff to do for us and every thing we asked for was settled in a record time. We were there for new years eve and the tuna was to die for !!! we saw toucans and other great wildlife in our three days at the property Thanks Roy for putting up with us !

The staff were amazing, incredibly helpful and helped us have a brilliant time. The hotel has its own dock which makes going on tours of the area really easy. Highly recommend getting the transfer boat from Sierpe, very easy and quick.,

    Central location, comfortable room.

    Central location, comfortable room. The pool was really lovely to sit near and relax, cool off. Staff was exceptional and helpful in all manners. Receptionist helped me book all of my activities and was super accommodating. The restaurant staff were so friendly, and even remembered my name after I came a few times. Very convenient to have on site. It had everything I coud want and price was reasonable. I already want to go back and will book there again.

    It was very remote.

    It was very remote. We spent three nights there and enjoyed early active mornings and chill afternoons with an early dinner and bedtimes. There's not much to do at night which was fine by us. We loved watching the town wake up in the morning. We went diving at Cano Island and loved the turtles and all of the varieties of fish. The water was so clear when we went, it was one of the better diving experiences in Costa Rica so far!

    Fantastic stay.

    Fantastic stay. Exactly as described except wifi didn't work in our room, we had to go to the office/breakfast area to use it. The views from the room were spectacular overlooking Drake Bay. We had daily visits from capuchins, macaws, parrots, hummingbirds, etc The beds were comfortable as were the chairs and hammocks on the porch. Handrails going up the steep tire steps to the room would have been helpful. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious and made to order.

    Great place to stay if you want to visit Corcovado national...

    Great place to stay if you want to visit Corcovado national park. Not only Corcovado is worthwhile but Drake Bay itself as well. I would recommend taking the boat from Sierpe to Drake Bay as it’s very convenient and the boat ride is extremely scenic!

    Very nice peaceful place, at the grounds of a friendly costarican family, right on the edge of the rainforest. Beautiful Ganadito beach is at walking distance. The cabin where we slept was new and fine.

    The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you...

    The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you must visit them with a guide for the appropriate access and to really appreciate what is there. Drake is a the ideal place from which to reach the parks. We travelled to Drake Bay by intercity bus from San Jose and connected with the ferry. The "wet landing" was a first for us - a genuine adventure where the ferry assistants wade your luggage to shore on their shoulders and the passengers just focus on getting themselves to shore. The ferry takes an hour or so through amazing mangroves. Make sure to tell your hotel to book you on the ferry to avoid misunderstanding -- there are only two ferries per day and you don't want to lose a day/night in Sierpe. The park is amazing --book a tour well in advance as daily entries are limited. Access to the park is by boat. Birds galore, several species of monkey including the mighty howler, tapirs, two species of ant eater, and many more creatures. We did the snorkeling tour too which was also amazing. We saw deep sea turtles, sharks, manta rays and a plethora of species of fish. Beautiful, pristine and rules about not interrupting wildlife. For example, we were watching a turtle and she started to rise for air and we all had to move back 4-6 metres and we had the joy of then watching her float on the surface for a while and just rock in the waves.     Beautiful location a short boat ride away from the main Drake Bay hotels etc. The central cabana with bar / restaurant was a great place to hang out and let the world slide on by. Food was good and the restaurant staff were a credit to the place.

    We had a great stay and had a balcony to watch the birds from. It is very central so easy to walk to the beach and restaurants. Dylan was a very helpful host and we had a wonderful day trip to Corcovado arranged through the hotel.
