Cahuita is a hidden gem.
Cahuita is a hidden gem. It’s a small, quiet peaceful place to stay that is near to Puerto Viejo, but without the noise. The beaches and wildlife were wonderful, and we loved visiting Cahuita National Park. There is a bus stop in Cahuita which goes to Puerta Viejo. We loved eating at many of the local restaurants. Cahuita has not yet been commercialized. There are souvenir shops, but it is mainly untouched and undeveloped. The El Rincon del Amor restaurant is spectacular. The kitchenette had almost everything I needed for a month long stay. There are two grocery stores nearby. The better of the two is a 5 minute walk. The National Park is one block away; the beach is one block away. The Mepe terminal is a two minute walk away. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful.
