An excellent location. Near to station, bus stop outside hotel, within walking distance of gondola station to Oeschinensee. Our room was in the older part of the hotel- very Swiss with original features and decoration- full of character. A fantastic, spacious balcony overlooking part of the town and views up to the mountains with the sounds of the gently cascading river. The room was reasonably large with comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. Wonderful ornate public spaces with grand dining room where we ate an excellent breakfast with a wide choice. We also used the indoor swimming pool a couple of times which was a real bonus and a bathrobe/swimming towel were provided in the room. This hotel has a real feel of "The Grand Tour!"

Comfortable hotel close to the train station and the cable car. We liked a lot our triple room with a balcony that had an amazing view on the mountains. Breakfast was the best we have ever had in Switzerland during our various stays. The hotel is clean and the staff very friendly.

    The apartment was spacious and had a terrific view from the balcony. Free parking was close by and checking in was a breeze. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities and the refrigerator was good sized. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room for 5 adult guests. We could stay here again and highly recommend this property.

    Kandersteg is a really lovely valley and town - not as...

    Kandersteg is a really lovely valley and town - not as touristy as other places but really beautiful and charming. I can recommend the tourist office (very nice people), Beckerei Marmotte for a real authentic village bakery and cafe/restaurant, and all the walks and cablecars - I can't wait to be back.

    Easy travels whether on foot or from train and bus stops. Plenty of places to stop for coffee or buy a snack. Sunnbüel, Oeschinensee and Blausee are a must see. Use the SBB app and google maps and you won’t get lost. If you have a half day to spare, take the bus to Adelboden just for the scenery.

    Such a cute little town to spend a couple of days in!

    Such a cute little town to spend a couple of days in! I wish I had stayed more than a night, but at this time of year I'm not sure there would have been that much more to do if I were staying a week or something. There does seem to be skiing in the winter, though, so I'm sure other travelers have much more to do during the winter!

    Literally a hidden gem.

    Literally a hidden gem. There is so much to do here and we didn't know about any. Go to Tourist Office and they will give you a fantastic overview based on your interestests and hiking abilities. Will definitely go back.

    Beautiful alpine valley. We were there in early June.

    Beautiful alpine valley. We were there in early June. The weather was awful but the flowery meadows suberb. Regular train service to the rest of Switzerland. Plenty of places to eat out of an evening.

    View of the balcony was stunning. Located approximately half a mile from the train station, so a 10 minute stroll. Bus stops 200m away in both directions, which is free if you’re staying in Kandersteg with the guest card. Hotel will shuttle you back to station on leaving, no issues. Kandersteg is lovely unspoiled little town and I hope it stays that way. Awesome place for walking with mountain streams and forests. Recommended.

    Fantastic location , we had a room with the slide out jacuzzi which made our stay . Best hotel and location of our week travelling around Switzerland . Loved the indoor pool with the swim to outdoor whirlpool . Wish we realised sooner that tipping even front desk staff as well as cleaners is standard in Switzerland as the gentleman on front desk was very lovely and very helpful thank you!

    The overall hotel was so clean and traditionally decorated. The location, the stream near the hotel and small lake was just amazing. The clouds on the alps was adding extra beauty to the place.
