I had an amazing stay! The room was awesome, complete with a balcony, and the location was perfect, being very close to public transport. I can't even find the right words to describe the treatment by Mr. Jlou Tolosa. In just three days, he made us feel like family. I hope to meet him again soon.

FAQs about hotels in Interlaken

Outdoors Gateway to Jungfrau

Typically Swiss, Interlaken has an incredible location: on the Aar River linking nearby Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and in the shade of magnificent Alpine mountains including famous Jungfrau. The wonderful views are seen flying into Interlaken Airport.

The lakes are great spots for sailing, swimming or simply having a picnic along the peaceful shores. The area also has its fair share of high-adrenaline pursuits including bungee jumping, paragliding and river rafting.

In winter it’s all about the Interlaken skiing and snowboarding, with options including the fabulous Jungfrau Winter Sport Region and family-friendly areas with easy slopes. The Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn glacier is UNESCO World Heritage-listed, and the Jungfraujoch mountain railway takes you to the Top of Europe, the highest railway station in Europe. For a break from skiing, Europe’s longest toboggan run is a thrill a minute. Après-ski ranges from bars and discos to cosy restaurants serving specialities like fondue and raclette.

The town offers great views of the snowy peak of Jungfrau, best seen from Höheweg which also has a Japanese garden and lots of shops selling all things Swiss. Also here is the Hotel Victoria Jungfrau and the Hotel Royal St Georges, 2 Swiss Heritage Sites that are just some of the Interlaken accommodation options on Booking.com.

Interlaken truly feels like a dream destination, the kind of place where every corner looks like it belongs on a postcard. My favorite spots were the panoramic views from Harder Kulm (tip: go up just before sunset for the most magical light) and the turquoise waters of Lake Brienz, which are stunning for both photos and a peaceful walk along the shore. When it comes to food, Interlaken has plenty of cozy restaurants and cafés. I really enjoyed trying a classic Swiss fondue, perfect after a day of exploring. For a budget-friendly option, grab fresh pastries from local bakeries in the morning; they are delicious and save you time before heading out on an adventure. Getting around is surprisingly easy. The Swiss Travel Pass or local day tickets are worth it if you plan to explore nearby towns or lakes, as public transport is punctual, scenic, and stress-free. Inside Interlaken, most places are within walking distance, so you can enjoy the views while you get around. As a solo traveler, I found Interlaken both safe and exciting. There are endless outdoor activities, but the absolute highlight was paragliding over Interlaken. Flying between the mountains with the lakes glistening below is pure magic and you will never forget it. (Tip: book a morning flight if you can; the air is calmer and the views are crystal clear.) Whether you love nature, adventure, or just soaking in the beauty of the Swiss Alps, Interlaken has something for everyone.

Anne You attached my report from 2024, the difference with 2025 hotel change management, and policy, in this case : cut expenses and increase prices, also to hire employees with nor training, and low profile. with the high prices hotel can buy an air condition system more efficacy that a cheap fan.

It’s best city of Switzerland I visited. View of city is awesome, nice and clean, public transport is very good. If you have Swiss travel pass you can enjoy trains, ferries and buses free. And lots of other places have discounts on tickets upto 50%. If you’re looking for Swiss travel definitely go to Interlaken at least 2 days minimum, lots of places (Grindelwald ) around there that have amazing views. Small town but better. Food is little expensive than Zurich.

I wish I can stay one more day. We were there two days and booked the paragliding twice and was cancelled due to raining. But the town has so much to see and we can only hit a small part of it. I will definitely go back again if I ever travel back to Switzerland.

It is the capital of adventure in Alps.

It is the capital of adventure in Alps. There are so many different activities that can be done in and around Interlaken. The down side is the town full of tourists in summer months and the price for food and hotel is at premium. I highly recommend paragliding if you are scared of the height. something you probably would never find in the US due to all the rules and liability issues.

It is not worth staying in Interlaken to visit Jungfrau.

It is not worth staying in Interlaken to visit Jungfrau. It is better to stay at Grindelwald with great mountain views. Just a day visit to Interlaken is all that is required. Try to spend more time in Lucern, Bern, Zurich while visiting Switzerland.

The staff were very polite and helpful. The location was excellent, just across from the train station and next to the lake cruise pier (We got off the train with two pieces of luggage, rushed to the hotel to drop off our luggage, and then caught the river cruise boat, all within seven minutes.) The breakfast had limited selections, but it was sufficient, especially considering the overall prices in Switzerland. Additionally, there is a Coop supermarket right behind the train station. We could even watch people paragliding from our window.

LOVED our stay at Hotel Alphorn. It’s so close to the train station, about 3 minutes walk. Christine at the front desk was wonderful and so friendly. Breakfast each morning was also excellent. The beds were comfortable, I love the separate blankets for a double bed (Scandinavian style I believe). Christine gave us advice on where to eat and where to go which was greatly appreciated. I hope to return to this hotel and Switzerland one day!

The location of this property is beautiful and scenic. Situated right on the lake, it was easy to go out and explore right on your doorstep. The hotel offers free passes to catch the bus into the main town (about 10 mins away) which was super helpful. The breakfast is also decent and came in handy as breakfast cafes seem hard to come by in Switzerland! We loved this place, it was clean, cozy, and comfortable.
