Quebec City is one of my favorite places to visit.
Quebec City is one of my favorite places to visit. It is beautiful, charming and quaint. I brought my daughter and her family there for their first visit and they were delighted. They were thrilled to see where their ancestors, the Bouchards, came from around 1650. The younger ones rented bikes to tour around and we found a great gluten free bakery, Chez Hansel and Gretel. The family loved the ghost tour. I first visited Quebec City with my French students in the 1990’s and fell in love with it. Views of the water & historical landmarks were the best.
Views of the water & historical landmarks were the best. Tourist Visitors Center was awesome. We used it several times. So many tourists fighting for sidewalk space & outdoor seating for meals got to be a challenge. We did whale watching tour & Plains of Abraham tour. Forget Montreal. Quebec City is a gem! The 1 hour tour through the Chateau Frontenac is a must. Love the narrow laneways lined with shops and restaurants. Great restaurants in the upper city near the parliament building which is spectacular at night.Guest review byChrisAustralia - 10.0

The old city of Quebec, surrounded by a sick wall, is an experience not to be missed. The last remaining walled city in North America, with its narrow cobblestone streets, centuries old buildings, French restaurants and cafés, Old Quebec feels like a different world and a different century. Room overlooked the park and chateau, a quiet safe area, yet within minutes of Quebecs main attractions, day trip pick ups and restaurants. We caught the train to Quebec City and it was a 20 minute flat walk to the hotel. It was also near the bus to go out to Montcerency Falls, as well as the old town.
