Besides the beautiful contemporary design of the public spaces and the rooms, the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. We had lunch at the Drift Restaurant which was delicious. Everytime we fly into Halifax this hotel is our favourite place.

I had such an awesome stay at Chateau Bedford Trademark Collection by Wyndham! The place was spotlessly clean, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. For the price, it’s honestly hard to beat. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels, but this one really impressed me with its value for money. Sure, it’s an older hotel, but it’s so well taken care of that it feels charming rather than outdated. You can tell they put a lot of effort into maintaining it, and it shows. Oh, and the breakfasts are amazing! Good variety, fresh, and really tasty. If you’re looking for a comfortable, welcoming spot in the area that doesn’t break the bank, I’d definitely recommend it.

The hotel is beautiful and clean. Very helpful staff. The pool was a bonus. Everything is in walking distance from the hotel. It’s very hilly in Halifax and the hotel is up on the top of the hill just one road away from the Citadel and main areas. loads of eating and drinking places near the hotel too. Would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Halifax.

Halifax is a great city to explore, lots of historical areas, restaurants and shops. An amazing boardwalk to explore. Restaurants to try: Five Fishermen, Millstone, Wooden Monkey, and Evan's Seafood. Ferry to and from Dartmouth to Halifax, very handy. Great villages to visit: Peggy's Cove, Hubbard (eat at Tuna Blue), Chester, Lundenberg has amazing shops, distilleruea to check out and restaurants) and Oak Island Tour (yes the one with the TV show that searches for treasure. 13th season being filmed).

Three days in Halifax is plenty. I recommend going out of Halifax to the North and explore the Cabot trail. Keep in mind that it is remote in some places and make sure you have dinner before 6:00 pm or you can find yourselves without it,

This is really a walkable city, which I like.

This is really a walkable city, which I like. We ate at The Five Fishermen , The Wooden Monkey, and Drift. We enjoyed the trip to Peggy's Cove, and the walking tour (says it's for the waterfront, but it's really all over, and the guide was great). The sunset harbor cruise is nice, except that we were surprised to find a singer/guitarist on a microphone who performed the whole trip. This was an extra we would rather not have had, although others may enjoy it. It was a loud cruise.

For me, it was my most enjoyable boardwalk experience in North America, ranking above Vancouver and San Francisco' Fisherman's Wharf. Excellent dining at the Bicycle Thief....reserve well in advance for indoor seating. Outdoor tables are great for boardwalk viewing...available on a first come first serve basis. Visiting nearby Nova Scotia Province House should be on the list for 'must visits' to learn about Nova Scotian's in the 15 - 20 history tour of Province House. Special!

Not a lot of hotels in the city, and have become expensive the last several years. Most of the attractions are within downtown Halifax, with others a short bus ride away. Spend most of the time along the waterfront and the downtown.

This was my second time staying at The Hallburton and I had a good experience both times. Staying at this hotel is like staying at a friends house or a B&B - the rooms feel homey and so does the building itself. Rooms are very clean. Having a glass of wine in the evening or a coffee in the morning in the library room with the fireplace is lovely. The location is great and is a fairly close walk to the waterfront as well as most other places downtown. The staff are friendly and accommodating. My room was upgraded which I really appreciated.

Location was great. Who could ask for better than downtown Halifax, with a harbor view! Staff was also great at accommodating us with a microwave which you need to request upon arrival. I appreciated the security of needing your key card to access the elevators and ice room. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers is a beautiful touch. Picture attached is the view from our hotel room.
