It seems to be a nice safe little town, and I like the beaches there better than those of Placencia, for example. However, we ran into unexpected difficulty finding a place to have meals. The food and people are so nice!
The food and people are so nice! Queen beans was amazing for breakfast, Katz coffee for coffee and waffles. JJ’s was our favorite spot for lunch and dinner: good food and prices. Hopkins is a linear village maybe 7 miles long paralleling the sea. There are some high end resorts but local guest rooms predominate. Residents never failed to assist us in finding taxis, food stores or support services. The food was excellent whether it was consumed in a resturant, local bar or kitchen hut. Hopkins is a small, rural town - one paved road that goes the length of the town plus a few unpaved roads. So, if you are looking for a small beach town with very friendly people, Hopkins may be for you. There is a good grocery store and several good dining options. Hopkins was a great home base for us for a few days as we explored a couple national parks in the area.Guest review byCz
