The apartment was very nice and big, it even has a sauna! Communication with the host was great even though she didn’t speak English perfectly! Great spot to reach the nearby station tombs, the freedom monument and the incredible UFO like communist building on top of the mountain, I highly recommend going there for sunset as we were the only ones there and the colours were incredible

    Shipka is a quiet village at the foot of the Shipka memorial church. It was central to all our sightseeing and easy to locate. There are a few restaurants, shops, bars and even a pet shop. We enjoyed walking around the church and the village in the mornings and evenings before we went about our day of sightseeing to nearby attractions and towns.

    In the short period we stayed, we managed to see all the sights around the town. The responsive staff advises us on how to get around everything so that we don't waste our time and where they cook the most deliciously so that we don't go astray. Luckily for us, the place to eat turned out to be no more than 15 minutes from the hotel itself. The short walk between the hotel and the restaurant gives an opportunity to see a small part of the city, revealing part of its unique charm. On the negative side of things, I would be hard pressed to describe any. I would be lying to myself if I said we experienced any kind of inconvenience.

    Nice located, just near "Valley of the Thracian kings", you...

    Nice located, just near "Valley of the Thracian kings", you can visit the Thracian Thombs / tumulus that was excavated until now, you can visit the Roses Fields (if you are there in June / July) and the Roses oil museum in Kazanlak, do not forget to visit also the beautiful Shipka Orthodox Church. And of course, Buzludha and Socialis Torch monuments, also the Shipka Peek monument need to be visited!

    What did we like? To say EVERYTHING in capitals seems a little over the top but it’s true. We arrived after a hot and unpleasant train/taxi journey from Sofia and were greeted like family. The owners asked about dietary needs for breakfast, sorted out transport for the following day to Shipka Pass and the ‘UFO’ structure. Breakfast was delicious and home cooked. Authentic friendly Bulgarian hotel. If we are passing along the Valley of Roses we will detour to stay here. It’s that good!

    The location is fantastic. The hotel is in the middle of a forest. It's peaceful and great for outdoor activities. Everyone in the hotel is extremely polite and professional. It's definitely one of my favorite places. I'm looking forward to going back there.

    Beautiful place, top quality throughout. Everything provided and the attention to detail was amazing. Very short 5 minute walk up the hill to Shipka Church which is stunning. Host was very pleasant and gave us information about the local amenities.

    Friendly staff. Ready parking (February). Restaurant open all day and evening. Helped with gluten allergy friendly meals. Good location for visiting Russian church. Shipka and Budluzhda within easy driving distance (weather permitting)
