We have stayed in Tumut and surrounds many times (mainly camping at Goobagandra). Great town. Perfect size, just the right amount of amenities (shopping, pubs, restaurants, parks etc), without being swarmed by tourists. Also very picturesque, and the gateway to the snowy mountains (excellent launching pad for blowering dam, Yarrangobilly Caves, Jindabyne, and Thredbo).Guest review byShaneAustralia - 8.0

A lovely picturesque town.
A lovely picturesque town. Strolling through Pioneer park along the river was such a delightful experience! We even got the chance to pet horses. Junction park was a lovely spot for swimming, fishing and picnicking. Cooling off at Adelong falls was another highlight of our trip. We enjoyed our meals at - The Oriental hotel, Tumut river brewery, The Coffee Pedaler. our stay was only for 2nights. Would definitely want to go back.Guest review byShetty - 10.0

Loved the tree lined town with verandahs in front of the shops. So protection from the sun or rain whilst shopping. Loved the pedestrian walkway along the Tumut river and the numerous tree filled parks in Tumut.
