Strahan is beautiful.
Strahan is beautiful. Right on the Gordon river which is blue and lovely. You can cruise down the Gordon river or be pampered on the wilderness train ride. Walk along the river side and see the waterfall. Great meals at the pub. There is a visitors information shop who can give you a list of all restaurants in the area. Motel Strahan was a great find.
Motel Strahan was a great find. The cabins was warm and comfortable, and the staff were helpful with tips about the best places to eat, etc. Unfortunately, the boat tour on MacQuarie Harbour was not available on the one full day we stayed in Strahan, but using that time to travel on the West Coast Wilderness Railway made up for that disappointment. The trip to Teepookana was a great experience, and well worth every penny. Strahan is a real 'get away from it all' town, and we look forward to coming back again in the future.Guest review byEricAustralia - 10.0

The food at the Pub was awesome, we walked from the caravan park into town at night for dinner, we saw dolphins hanging in close by the jetty. During the day was very picturesque. The Gordon river trip is a must and I would highly recommend to upgrade to premium. You will not regret it. The wood mill is very interesting and again would high recommend.
