Orford is a lovely town with some beautiful beaches nearby...
Orford is a lovely town with some beautiful beaches nearby and there are some great walks in the area. Spring Beach is particularly nice and The Thumbs walking trail off Wielangta Road is worth doing if you are reasonably fit. Used Orford as a convenient stop for Maria Island Ferry and a half day trip to Freycinet National Park. Because we were on the road at mealtimes didnt eat at hotel restaurant. Enjoyed the coastal scenery and even the inland rural spots when we got lost.Guest review byStephen Bennetts - 10.0

Orford was a nice stay for us. If you want to visit places at the upper parts of Tasmania, then this is a perfect place. The place where we stayed was also quieter. At one side you will visit Cradle Mountains, zoo and on the other side you will visit Jacob's Ladder. Roads and nature views are beautiful and green. There are couple of restaurants in the city. We ate at Kaffir Lime Thai restaurant, and it was delicious. A nice place to stay indeed.Guest review byMEHEDIAustralia - 10.0

Beautiful location, helpful staff and good restaurant. Easy walking path along the banks of the water. Very peaceful. Close to Maria Island ferry terminal. Easy to find accommodation. The parking was easy. The location is near the water and not far from the shops which are on the other side of the river.
