From the heated floors, outside bathing experience to the complete isolation where you could not even hear other guests at the property. Yet only a gentle 15-minute walk let us experience the most exquisite dining experience without needing to drive to the AVA restaurant. The accommodation, along with the restaurant, should both be regarded as Michelin hat/ star quality. Will definitely be rebooking in the future.

The property was clean, and and we had plenty of privacy even though the hosts stay close by. The hosts were very accommodating and gave us great recommendations to explore around. They also had e-bikes that we could hire to get around the area which was very convenient. Overall we loved our time as the stay.

Small wine making region in the King River valley.

Small wine making region in the King River valley. A handfull of small and large winemakers, some of whom have been in the area for generations. Minimal number of eateries for dinner so some forward planning is recommended. Finding accommodation during the Ski season can be a challenge on weekends. Easy day trips to Myrtleford, Bright and Beechworth. Start to the Great Alpine Road (check during winter for snow chain requirements). Easy access from Melbourne and Albury/Wodonga via M31. Visit Rutherglen region, nearby, for excellent fortified wines.

We enjoyed having a drink and bite at Henley's bar and kitchen, Ava for that special dining experience and the Milawa Hotel for good food and friendly staff. Milawa is a small quiet town which makes getting to Wangaratta, King Valley and surrounds such as Myrtleford, Bright and Mt Buffalo easy. Great wineries and enjoyed the cheese factory. Brown Brothers is a must visit.

We stayed at Church Lane, Milawa, choosing Milawa as we wanted to visit the nearby King Valley. Church Lane provided excellent accommodation. The Milawa Pub provided a hearty dinner. The Bakery provided good coffee. We headed for the less well travelled King Valley to visit wineries and lunch, esp Pizzini Wines where we experienced a great tasting and excellent cheese platter. Finally heading to Melbourne via Powers Lookout (great views back to the VIC Alps) and Mansfield.

Quiet and spacious with beautiful views to the countryside. Denise and Peter were excellent hosts, cooking an amazing breakfast each morning. As a chef, Peter cooked for us one night and our meals were delicious! The B&B is a short ride from Milawa and other nearby towns.
