We had a wonderful stay at Rawnsley Park in a superior cabin. The cabin was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is a fantastic base to do day trips and hikes around the local ranges. We did a 4WD tour on one day which was awesome. I highly recommend a stay here.

The location was amazing out in the Flinders Ranges. The hotel was far above my expectations. The hotel was unique to be in the outback of Australia. Ellie, the manager, was very welcoming & friendly. You could see that Ellie is very proud of her business & rightly deserved. The staff were friendly & the food was great. Even the feral mixed grill & emu paté was lovely. There are self drives from the hotel or you can just relax & do nothing. It certainly is an experience to be have.

Location on a working station was nice. Privacy was respected. On arrival, every bit of info was given about the region with stories, maps, routes, current status of the roads, etc. You only had to puzzle your plans together.

Australia's best kept secret bar none.

Australia's best kept secret bar none. The Flinders Ranges offers peace, tranquility, and stunning scenery with plunging gorges that are a geologist's paradise. The landscapes are vast and timeless with the most beautiful flora and fauna. For me, this was a spiritual journey that drew me closer to God.

Flinders ranges are awesome, your staff and guides are helpfull and courteous. Kristen's 4 wheel drive tour was excellent, she is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The walk to the homestead and Wangarra lookouts was easier than I thought for a reasonably fit 80 year old. The old homestead was a worthwhile look. We had the chance to speak with Jeff Morgan for some time when visiting his gallery which really capped off a very enjoyable and memorable short trip.

Having travelled extensively to the Kimberlys, Mitchell Plateau, Bungle Bungles, Uluru, Litchfield, Kakadu, Chambers Pillar, Kings Canyon, Carnarvon Gorge, Blue Mountains, Cradle Mountain, I was surprised to be so totally blown away by the Flinders Ranges. Just amazing and like seeing millions of years of evolution of the earth in the 1 spot. Also massively elevated my already amazing admiration and envy of people completing the Heysen Trail.

Great introduction to South Australian outback.

Great introduction to South Australian outback. So beautiful. Recommend going on a tour for the interpretation and ensuring seeing as much as possible. Make sure you see the rock wallabies. Blinman mining tour worthwhile. Stop at Hawker and Quorn too if possible.

    Stunning area.

Stunning area. I was amazed at the huge ancient trees and the beautiful red cliffs. This area is a long way off the main road and there are some patches on the way up to Wilpena pound without service. However the road is good and well traveled. I wish I had longer to explore the many hikes and lookouts. However the walk to the homestead from Wilpena Pound resort is spectacular and so incredible I saw so many wild animals and birds on that short walk. I learned a lot about the history of the area too.

Good well appointed cabins with a kitchen, sitting and bed area and a separate bathroom. Undercover parking alongside the cabins. Free WiFi. Rawnsley Park Station is a large complex consisting of a caravan park at one end and cabins at the other. The reception areas both have some grocery supplies for purchase. A bar/restaurant is situated near the cabins. Rawnsley Park is well situated for exploring the Flinders Ranges National Park.

It was a great location for exploring flinders ranges. The station itself was also lovely, with some of the walks around the station providing great views of gorges and all that is on offer in the region.
