Room was spacious and comfortable with the largest king size bed I’ve ever seen. Small balcony with chairs and table, sat outside while enjoying a coffee and people watch the world go by. Stylish, clean and well appointed bathroom. Very short walk to shopping mall and train.

FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-drenched & Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

Booking.com has plenty of downtown hotels, and other accommodations near Brisbane Airport in a northeastern coastal suburb.

The river, the ease of transportation, the fifty cents train and bus rides, great Uber rides, good food and restaurants. And a visit to the Art Gallery of Queensland is an experience not to be missed! We enjoyed dining at Massimo's, a river front Italian restaurant. Giovanni who served us was perfect, arranging drinks, starters, mains and dessert for our group of ten.

Brisbane is full of treasures.

Brisbane is full of treasures. While it can be swelteringly hot in summer, there are so many wonderful things to see and do. Firstly, the Queensland Art Gallery - located on the South Bank of the Brisbane River, full of amazing art. Then there's the Botanical Gardens where you can hire bikes or stroll. I would also recommend th many walks along the river and to explore the suburb of New Farm not far out of the city, to admire the Queenslander architecture, and to walk in beautiful New Farm Park (October being the best time for the jaranda trees). Great cafes abound in this suburb, but also in most suburbs of Brisbane.

I have had quite a few getaways to Brisbane from the Gold Coast for various reasons. I have always enjoyed my time there whether it was a musical at Qpac lyric theatre or just enjoying the facilities around Southbank, pushbike riding around the riverfront, scooter riding around kangaroo point, the markets in the botanic Gardens. Getting there by train is so easy and being able to walk to accommodation. Even walking across the bridges to the CBD for events. I even did the story Bridge walk with my daughter one time. There is so much to do and I can’t wait for my next adventure there.

Good location, spacious room and within walking distance from the Southbank and CBD. Very clean. It is difficult to find a hotel with parking space guaranteed, especially when it is so close to the CBD, so I am happy with the room. There are many famous restaurants nearby. Convenience store is only two blocks away.
