Using the train system is a cheap, convenient and easy way of getting around. Eateries are many, varied and good quality. Climate is wonderful - usually sunny and warm. People are friendly and welcoming unlike other major Australian cities. Beautiful areas such as Southbank, Parklands and the botanic gardens to chill out in. City seems real safe to just wander around in. The river is awesome...spending a day just cruising up on the cats. Great! We enjoyed walking through South Bank and across the Neville Bonner Bridge to Star Casino. We enjoyed going to the viewing platform at the casino and sitting watching the sunset. We enjoyed our walk through the city and seeing the new and old architecture. There are lots of restaurants and cafes. Likewise, the staff working in the restaurant on Level 1. The restaurant provided a wonderful buffet breakfast - and a lovely nightcap drink in the evening.
