Location offered superb views overlooking the valley with spectacular sunsets and sunrises. Also glorious dark sky view of Milky Way and Southern sky constellations. Plus blissful quiet. The house was absolutely beautiful and very clean, comfortable and well equipped.

It is a very spacious and cozy house. The hosts had made every effort to make us feel welcome, including lighting the fireplace before our arrival, which we appreciated since it was unusually cold and rainy for this time of the year. There were plenty of breakfast items for us to cook our breakfast (bacon, eggs, bread, butter, orange juice). Quiet location. Our daughter appreciated being able to feed and pat the animals on the property. There were plenty of toys, books, and board games to keep everyone entertained.

well appointed and warm for the cold winter outside with log fires lovely atmosphere and decor with photos and paintings of local fauna and flora. Shelley and Doug were the perfect hosts and joined us for after dinner drinks ( local wines) with stories of the area and their journey to become the managers

Lizzie and Joe are warm, welcoming and accommodating people who went out of their way to look after us and to help us make the most of our weekend. They are in a quiet area close to most of the wine farms, which was excellent for us. Their lounge with the fireplace was a great place to unwind with some local wine at the end of the day, the rooms were comfortable and clean, the breakfast was truly exceptional and feeding their llamas was fun way to cap off our time there.

It is a stunning property. The communication, care and service from the hosts was exceptional. Best we have ever had. Beautiful house, rooms are magnificent. Location is right on the Main Street behind a building so not too exposed. The hosts checked if we would like the fire lit before arrival, the electric blankets were on, the fridge and pantry were generously stocked for us. They even enquired about our milk preference. They supplied bacon, eggs, bread plus so much more. We were offered a complimentary late check out. If you are staying in the area don’t hesitate to book this accommodation.

    This is a large and well presented house, with modern features and very comfortable beds and furniture. The hosts were very prompt with their communications, and entry to the property was easy. This house is perfect for a large group or family/families on a Granite Belt getaway.

    We had booked another venue and a couple of weeks before it...

    We had booked another venue and a couple of weeks before it was discovered we were double booked and Girraween Country Inn was offered to us as we specifically wanted to attend the Apple and Grape festival. which we had done over the previous forty years. We had never stayed in the area before so wanted to spend some time exploring the areas we had previously just driven through. We were unsure where the property was situated so took our time to find it. The directions were excellent as we arrived early afternoon. There were also others staying at the accommodation who attended the festival so we were able to share experiences. Our hosts Doug and Sherree did their utmost to look after us and we thank them for this.

    Ballandean is a very small town situated 15 minutes south of Stanthorpe. It has a chemist, bakery, general store with fuel and a tavern. Several wineries are close to this location. It is a short drive to nsw.

    The location was remote & very quiet.

    The location was remote & very quiet. The road in was a bit rough. The cottage was drafty but warm with the fire & air con going. All facilities worked well & the beds were very comfortable. Ballandean did not have anywhere to eat & Stanthorp only had one pub available on a Monday night. Couldn't find a restaurant open. Unfortunately, our car broke down & it was impossible to hire a car within 100km of Ballandean.

    We visited 6 wineries and enjoyed everyone for service and...

    We visited 6 wineries and enjoyed everyone for service and quality. Enjoyed Symphony Hill wines, Aventine Vineyard and Just Red Wines (all excellent). Had a great time at balancing heart (pizzas music) and host at giraween estate wines was fun. Wineries were close to James Farmhouse. We had lunch at Ballandean tavern and pizzas at Balancing Heart estate. Food was good. Would have liked to stay a little longer and enjoy discovering more of countryside. Family had a ball enjoying farmhouse facilities and Ballandean.

    Ballandean is a small village with a pub for a quick meal.

    Ballandean is a small village with a pub for a quick meal. There is a very nice soaperie in the village which sells some beautiful aromatic soaps and handwashes. The surrounding countryside is picturesque and there are plenty of wineries in this district. The town of Stanthorpe is close byas is the Washpool Range with bushwalking tracks. I would recommend the nearby University of Queensland Food and Wine School for a lunch meal. The food was excellent.

    Lovely, peaceful setting for a few days away. Stacey & Brad were fantastic hosts and quick to respond to any questions/requests. Ballandean is nice & quiet and the pub food is excellent. Easy access to Girraween National Park. The included breakfast was lovely, and the coffee was great! You can pick what time you would like to eat. The communal lounge/dining space with a lovely fireplace and view is very relaxing and comfortable.

    The location is awesome for those wanting a quiet getaway close to the Granite Belts' best wineries (Ballandean, Golden Grove, Tobin, Bangawarra, Bents Road and many more, all 5 - 10 minutes away). The host Noeleen, was lovely and really cared about her property which showed in the facilities provided.

    What is better than fresh bread? It was fine. Perhaps add vegemite to items for breakfast? There was cereals, coffee and teas. All good. Wonderfully quiet. We couldn't hear the New England highway. Conveniently close to eating places in Ballandean and Stanthorpe us usefully close as well.

    Brilliant cabins. Great location to explore Stanthorpe and Ballandean. Clean, comfortable and well stocked. Fire laid ready to light. Goats, birds and lots of Roos. Very quiet and a nice Bushwalk behind the cabins. This will be our go to spot from now on.
