A Truly Magical Stay – Warm, Charming, and Impeccably Clean Hotel Ur-Wachau is nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, we felt wrapped in warmth and elegance. The charm of the historic building, the attention to detail in every corner, and the genuine hospitality make it a rare gem. The rooms are spotless—truly pristine. I even sat in the beautiful breakfast room trying to spot anything made of plastic, just out of curiosity, and found nothing. Everything is thoughtfully chosen, beautifully maintained, and deeply authentic. Breakfast was a highlight—local flavors, homemade delicacies, and served in what feels like a fairytale chapel. The whole experience radiates care and intention. If you’re looking for a place that’s serene, inspiring, and truly sustainable, look no further. I can’t recommend it enough. Just wow.

The owner made it very easy to check in late (around 6pm) when I arrived from my bike trip. The garden is absolutely gorgeous. In the room is a fridge with some local wine that you can enjoy (need to pay), I wish I had room for this in my bike bags! The town is so beautiful. Definitely the highlight of my bike trip.

Absolutely everything was sublime! The most obvious full score review I've ever given, by far! This was exceptional! At the end of the stay, we planned to travel to the next place, but ended up booking two more nights! Even the breakfast was absolutely delicious. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible!

    Weissenkirchen is an absolutely fantcastic place right in the heart of Wachau. The landscape and architecture are amazing. The city is full of history and at the same time very contemporary and nicely kept. Explore the many narrow lanes and foothpaths and make sure to taste the local specialities and drinks in the many "Heurigens" in Weissenkirchen. If you are into Wine this is definitely one of the best places to go in Austria. My favourites were white wines, namely the Rieslings and Grüner Veltliners. The white wines are rated in three classes: For me it works out this way: Starting a good dinner with a light Steinfeder as an apperitive, followed by a Federspiel for the main course and crowned by the full bodied Smaragd with remarkable bouquet and taste together with the amazing Marillenknödel as dessert.

    The breakfast was lovely, with a wide variety of both sweet and savory options. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is peaceful and welcoming—almost fairytale-like. The mother-and-daughter duo are wonderful hosts, and their warmth and attention truly made our stay special. Highly recommended!

    Very friendly atmosphere, excellent appartmann, outstanding breakfast, very nice stuff. The breakfasts were far beyond the majerity of five star hotels! It is a very good feeling to experience such a good service (especially these days when money is the king and nothing else means)!
