The hotel was easy to find--centrally located on the main road. Our room was modern, clean, and comfortable. The air conditioning actually worked, I was so thrilled (the other hotels on our trip had advertised air conditioning that didn't really work after all)!! The AC was fully adjustable in our room, so I sat there on the bed like a penguin that sits under the snow machine in the exhibit at the zoo; it was heaven. The breakfast was SO GOOD. Americans, this place had the crispiest bacon I have ever seen on the European continent. On our way to and from our room, we passed through a game room with foosball and pool tables, so naturally I challenged my husband to a game of pool (I won). There was on-site parking, and the connecting restaurant was also fantastic--we had dinner there. Our room also had a balcony which was nice. When we mentioned to the front desk upon checkout that we were going to the lake on our way out of town, they gave us a coupon so we wouldn't have to pay to go to the public beach.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a truly wonderful experience staying in this apartment. Everything was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged, making it feel like a real home away from home. The location was perfect—close to everything I needed, yet peaceful and relaxing. The host was warm, welcoming, and always available for any questions, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I especially appreciated the little touches that showed real care and attention to detail. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a memorable and stress-free stay. The location was fantastic, at the lakeside it was a mixture of a chapel and a hotel. There was a concert the day I stayed, the atmosphere was fantastic. I just stayed one night during the Alpe-Adria hike, but really enjoyed it. Breakfast was fine.

Lovely room with great views, lovely staff, fabulous breakfast. Good location for travel to Slovenia. Walk down to the lake was nice as was the cafe at the beach area. Dinner at local Gastehaus Trink, very pleasant. Hotel Pension Melcher is spotlessly clean and tidy. Thoroughly recommend.

    Nice hotel. Location is good for skiing, there is ski bus driving to Gerlitzen. I like how hotel is equiped. Nice big room for games, with two biliar pools and one table football and many family games. There is also a big room with desks where you can work on your laptop or papers. Gym is big and really good equiped. Breakfast is nice. Rooms are clean, bathroom big and good.

    The host was very welcoming, transparent and we appreciated all the good recommendations provided. Location is fantastic, close to Gerlitzen, close to the Lake and many attractions. We enjoyed the Adler Arena, Familywald, hiking to the Finsterbach waterfalls and the Gerlitzen Peak. The restaurant across from the location is also fantastic(zum Treffner).

    Clean rooms, friendly staff, good dinner. Very good location as a starting point for endless motor trips across Kärnten, Italy and Slovenia. The hotel is really biker friendly without becoming a biker-only hotel. It's also great for people who just want to hike, enjoy cycling trips or enjoy one of the many lakes that are there in the area.
