We only spent the night there on our way from Rome to Hamburg on the train and were very happy we chose to stay there instead of Innsbruck or Munich. The fortress is pretty exciting with the Kaiser's tower and historic prison cells especially. The so-called old town is a handful of houses, you can literally walk it in 3 minutes. Room is sober, wall to wall carpet with stains, mini bar missing, curtains torn, mirror in bathroom missing, box for tissues on the floor, aso. The WiFi system was the worst I ever experienced. The city is quite small but has lots of activities to explore. My favourite one was going up with the Kaiserlift and doing some hiking up the mountains. Up there you can also find some nice cafes/restaurants to have a nice break and continue with exploring the nice outdoors. The city itself is quite nice and one could walk all around it in one day or so.
