The DE-ticket works between Ehrwald and Garmish, despite that Ehrwald is in Austria, so one can travel freely there. The Zugspitze, Sonnenspitze and other locations are reachable by train/bus/cable car from Ehrwald. The Seebensee is fantastic lake, one can get there by a bus+cable car and using and normal road or a bus and a rather difficult via ferrata. Also there is an indoor climbing (about 15m high) gym with 4 automatic belaying stations in Ehrwald, so one can climb even during bad weather conditions.Guest review byPavelGermany - 10.0

Lovely village in Austria.
Lovely village in Austria. Lots of walking options, from easy to strenous, with stunning scenery of lakes and mountains. Cable cars giving easy access to the mountains. A Guest Card, given to tourists staying in local properties, allows use of regular local buses, which link the Cable Car stations. Also, a Z Card can be purchased to allow daily use of cable cars, including one trip to the Zugspitze. Some lovely restaurants in the village, and 2 supermarkets. A dream town for travellers searching for skiing, relaxing or just wandering along the country side. Amazing views, cozy town, great location very close to main hotspots in Tirol. Very proactive and helpful, lovely. Each room has a designated spot to park the car just at the front door. The room is decorated nicely with modern, solid furniture, and plenty of amenities like a coffee machine, toaster, cups, etc. are available.
