Lovely decorated hotel and rooms which have fabulous panoramic view to the mountains, there are sauna and we were served with a really great breakfast. We would definitely come back.

The hotel was easy to find and to park the car. We stayed in May, so not ski season, and didn’t really have the chance to explore locally. The hotel is extremely comfortable and welcoming. Take slippers - no outdoor shoes upstairs. We are in the restaurant which was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Our experience at this establishment was truly exceptional! The service was absolutely outstanding, with the owners actively involved in ensuring their staff provided the best possible experience. Our room offered breathtaking views, which made morning coffee truly amazing. The entire property was impeccably clean, and the hotel restaurant offered exquisite cuisine that delighted our taste buds. 3-star hotel that felt more comfortable than the 5-star one we stayed in a while ago. Very friendly staff. Really nice rooms with balcony and fantastic view. Not a very large breakfast buffet, but everything that's offered is of excellent quality. Augustiner beer. Bus stop just across the main road.

Regarding the first bonus question if the price matched expectations I actaally thought I was getting a very good deal as I bought it. If anything it turned out even better. As for the rest: Location is fantastic with the lush green of the valley floor and the sides in contrast to the white and black mountain tops was superb. A very nive 9-hole, very flat golfcourse in the valley, but with lots og OB and water it was still a challenge. Due to unlucky rain my main day there I did not get to try any of the numerous walks in the area. My two days was at least few days too short a stay. The hotel is in the usual Alpine fashion, which means very comfortable. Service was very good all around, and the dinner very capable made indeed. Also took care of my dietary obstacles in stride,

    The DE-ticket works between Ehrwald and Garmish, despite that Ehrwald is in Austria, so one can travel freely there. The Zugspitze, Sonnenspitze and other locations are reachable by train/bus/cable car from Ehrwald. The Seebensee is fantastic lake, one can get there by a bus+cable car and using and normal road or a bus and a rather difficult via ferrata. Also there is an indoor climbing (about 15m high) gym with 4 automatic belaying stations in Ehrwald, so one can climb even during bad weather conditions.

    Ehrwal is a nice village at the foot of Zugspitze.

    Ehrwal is a nice village at the foot of Zugspitze. There are a few hotels and restaurants as well as winter sport facilities. We were there in September and the meadows were green and the views nice after disipation of the morning fog.

    Lovely village in Austria.

    Lovely village in Austria. Lots of walking options, from easy to strenous, with stunning scenery of lakes and mountains. Cable cars giving easy access to the mountains. A Guest Card, given to tourists staying in local properties, allows use of regular local buses, which link the Cable Car stations. Also, a Z Card can be purchased to allow daily use of cable cars, including one trip to the Zugspitze. Some lovely restaurants in the village, and 2 supermarkets. Overall, a great holiday location.

    Ehrwald is fantastic! Small but charming. The perfect place for a ski trip !!!! Comfortable and clean, well organised. Conveniently situated near Munich airport, only 2h away it's easy to reach and find.

    A dream town for travellers searching for skiing, relaxing or just wandering along the country side. Amazing views, cozy town, great location very close to main hotspots in Tirol. Despite being small, it has everything needed for a day to day life: supermarkets, pharmacy, indorr swimming pool and spa, cable cars to the Zugspitze summit reachable on foot, a few restaurants...

    Lovely and beautiful place, but really bad transport system there. Maybe we were unlucky to had such negative experience with cancelled train and buses 10.06.22, so we had to take a taxi to Oberau to get a train to Munich.

    Landhaus Holzereck was immaculately kept but very comfortable. The location was central to the adorable little town and the views were spectacular! We walked to dinner with my handicapped father in tow. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back to Ehrwald as soon as possible!

    Comfortable room and bed, very helpful and pleasant owners. Good breakfast, possibility of dinner in several restaurants around the hotel (according to the owner's recommendation) I can only recommend the accommodation and I would be happy to stay here again.

    Best stay! The perfect hotel in a beautiful location. A ski lift is just 10 minutes away by car. The room was very comfortable, spacious, and clean, with everything you need. The breakfast was nice as well.
