It was the first time to be in Velipoje. It's not a big city but I am positively surprised. The Velipoja beach (where we were placed) was clean, the water was so clear and warm. The hotel is close to the beach, which was great. The pool was small but clean, and my son really enjoyed it. Breakfast was OK, and there are small shops nearby, along with parking available. I would have rated this 5 stars if it weren't for one issue: the cooking utensils. The gentle, clear waters provide peace of mind, while the abundance of space allows for fun-filled beach activities. With its unique health benefits, budget-friendly options, and an array of engaging experiences, Velipoja Beach is an ideal destination where families can create cherished memories and relish in the natural beauty of North Albania. There are plenty of bars, restaurants to visit during each time of the day by the beach. My favorite places to eat are "Familja", "Ada Vilun", "Eja", "407", "Lamaroja". I visited Velipojë at the beginning of May, when the season was just about to begin. This means, I was all alone (in the hotel, on the beach, on the streets). Unfortunately, the amount of garbage that comes in from the Buna river delta makes the wild, unkept beach almost a hazard to walk through. Maybe it is nicer during full season, when terrace owners are in charge of cleaning the beach up. There is a nice promenade along the beach and quite a trek to the Buna delta. Since it's a tourist place, it could be a bit better decorated. There is simply garbage everywhere. People don't speak English, especially older people, so it's a bit hard to communicate with local people. It's easy to get around, because it's not big. There is one big street and a small center and that's it. Beach is ok, but again, to much garbage lying around. There are few hotels which look nice, but everything else looks outdated and deteriorating. I am not that relevant to speak about restaurants and other stuff, since I stayed only half a day, but I think there are lot better places in Albania to spend your vacation.Guest review byarmynecoBosnia and Herzegovina
