The chalet has private entrance. We had a very nice stay at the quiet cottage. It is very new and the interior is stylish. We did not use the sauna, but it looked very good. The host was very responsive, helpful and friendly in conversation. There is an online guestbook that explains very good everything that is needed. It was made very professionally by the family. We enjoyed the wine and the beauty of this place.

We used the laundry facility and loved the fact that we could dry the clothes out in the line.. We even enjoyed BBQ as there was a facility for that as well.. Boasting a terrace and room service, Hare's Rest is attractively set in Taupo, 31 km from Orakei Korako Cave and Thermal Park and 31 km from Orakei Korako - The Hidden Valley. This lodge has a garden, barbecue facilities, free WiFi and free private parking. We liked everything about Hares Rest. The location is perfect and the Lodge is very comfortable and clean with a fabulous vista surrounded by beautiful gardens. Alli and Glyn, the hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful and they provided us with everything we needed for a perfect stay. The breakfast hamper Alli provided was very special and included her fresh homemade bread and granola, locally sourced fresh produce and her homemade treats, were delicious. The tranquil and relaxing environment of the lodge was fabulous and is near to Lake Taupo and a number of attractions in the surrounding area.I would not hesitate in recommending Hares Rest.
