First of all, this is not an accommodation, it's an experience. The tents are equipped with everything you need, the beds are super-comfy. Although we were prepared for a noisy night, given the fact that you are in the wild, it was surprisingly calm. The dinner and breakfast were very good and in the evening we had a lovely camp fire. We took the safari organized by the Camp Leopard Team, the afternoon one, and our guides were the best. With their knowledge we were able to see the leopard in all its splendor and all the other beautiful animals in the Yala Park. So if you are looking for something different and an amazing safari experience, search no more.

It’s most amazing place to be, very good location for visiting Yala national park but also very nice place to stay and just chill and enjoying the nature, but the real treasure are the people, Babu and Roshan was amazing they really made our stay memorable, we had beach dinners fire and amazing time with them!

Basecamp - Yala features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Yala, 15 km from Situlpawwa. First ask yourself what is the reason you want to be here - if you are here for the nature alone, Nilantha is the best person you can stay with and who you SHOULD take as a guide with you to the safari. He has a degree in biology , fluent English and knows so much about the local fauna and flora so a full day safari doesn’t get boring (which I can imagine can if you only take a driver with you). He is a true believer in ecotourism and is giving back to local communities. If you are here for a fancy dinner and facilities, go somewhere else. This is a simple stay in the jungle. And one more thing to add - your guide is not responsible for how many animals you’ll see BUT we were lucky and he for sure knows some spots where they MIGHT appear. And last but not least- Nilantha is a great and nice person we had a chance to meet :)

Big Game - Yala by Eco Team is located on the edge of Yala National Parks, a 20-minute drive from the Katagamuwa park entrance. They upgrade our stay from Big Game to Mahoora wirhout paying more. The tend was good and clean. Whe booked the stay + safary that was a nice experience. Wonderfull staff, Travis and the safary man treated us so kindly.

Kalimetiya Beach Cabana, a property with a garden and a terrace, is situated in Hungama, 400 metres from Gurupokuna Beach, 35 km from Hummanaya Blow Hole, as well as 50 km from Bundala Bird Sanctuary.... Really enjoyed my stay. Very friendly and warmhearted host family. Can definitely recommend.
