Stars Gate Camp is a recently renovated luxury tent in Al Wāşil, where guests can makes the most of its outdoor swimming pool, garden and barbecue facilities. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, a concierge service and currency exchange for guests. Excellent location, on the top of a dune in the middle of the desert. Fantastic 360 degree view. 15 rooms, outside pool very nice, very good half board plan. Rooms are excellent equipped, with terrace overlooking the desert (the fact that you do not have TV it is rather an advantage). WiFi works very well. The manager (Mr Gautam Balram) is very friendly and helpful. From the activities, we would recommend "night safari and star watching" (ask for Faisal as your guide). Difficult to get there with your own car (do not attempt if you do not have a real 4 motion car and you are not an experienced driver). Aim for the sister camp (Arabian Oryx Camp), and ask the reception there to guide you for the last km, since google maps are not accurate. Parking is free. We would recommend to spend at least two nights there. One night it is not enough.

If you are looking for a full immersion in the Bedouins' traditions, the Authentic Desert Camp hosted by Saeed is the best experience you could find in Oman desert ! From Omani hospitality to traditional dancing demonstrations, through a full tour of the desert, meet up with camels roaming around, we felt so comfortable with Saeed, who shared with passion all his knowledge with us. Authentic food was served as well, including traditional Omani dishes and fresh grills, including traditional bread cooking in the fire. It was an amazing experience, totally adapted for kids, group of friends and families!

With inner courtyard views, this accommodation provides a patio. The luxury tent features mountain views, a picnic area and a 24-hour front desk. The stay at Desert Diamond Camp was excellent! Sultan picked us up from the meet point and took us to the camp and we were welcomed with a campfire and fresh tea and coffee! The tents were vary spacious, clean and cosy, and the bathroom facilities clean. The next morning we walked to the sand dunes and the children did sand boarding. Sultan especially and the camp staff ensured our stay was comfortable and we highly enjoyed our stay in the desert!

Situated in Bidiyah in the Al Sharqiyah region, Rashid Desert Private Camp has a balcony. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. On clear days, guests can head outside to enjoy the luxury tent's outdoor fireplace or simply kick back and relax. Amazing experience. Left our vehicle at meeting point and paid for return trip transport which was definitely the right choice. Others who drove themselves found driving on the sand and changing road challenging and followed us out on departure. All the staff were great and really wanted everyone to have the best experience. Sunsets from the dunes, tent accommodation, food all great. Didn’t try the shower set up, very basic. Tour to the Bedouin house, camels on the roadside, expert driving through and down the dunes, night time scorpion walk - all amazing. We missed the part in the communications where payment was cash only at time of departure but were able to go to an ATM on our return to the meeting place and take care of payments

Wonderful employees who made the trip very memorable and collegial. We had a lovely time around the bonfire and I enjoyed meeting the other guests. This was a really nice place to stay if you are outgoing and want to surround yourself with interesting travelers and locals.

The property features barbecue facilities, shared lounge and parking on-site among other facilities. With inner courtyard views, this accommodation features a balcony. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Sunset and sunrise is great frome hill (5 min from camp). Camp has free transfer from town! Said is a wonderful host. He organized an interesting unique accommodation in the desert, he organized a delicious traditional dinner and breakfast. And he also managed to create an atmosphere of friendship and unity between the residents. People from different countries gathered for dinner, breakfast and just casually and shared their impressions. Said is an interesting, positive, smart person who makes sure that his clients have fun and are interested! I would like to separately note that in the evenings it is great to sit by the fire, tell and listen to stories and admire the stars in the desert. This experience is priceless. Thank you very much. I highly recommend this desert camp!
