It was a pleasure to talk to them, and they could tell us a lot about Sri Lankan culture. They also gave us great tips what to visit during our stay (in Matale as well as in Sri Lanka). We had an amazing breakfast with fresh fruits from their garden. The room was wonderful and the bed was very comfortable. From their terrace you have a stunning view over Matale and the surrounding mountains. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and we would love to come back.

In order to go to the apartment don’t follow Google maps, ask the locals at the villages as you pass by.

The location has a history, and the property was only modified as a guest house while keeping the old design. It is unique because of that. The area around the property is very quiet and very green, with many different types of trees/spices. The staff was very friendly, especially the manager (Christo). He contacted us before we arrived to make sure everything was arranged. The food was delicious, and the price was reasonable.

Sarath and his wife Deepthi are the most delightful hosts. We had a wonderful time staying in their beautiful home in the jungle. We had a steam massage (highly recommended) and Sarath took us for walks around his spice plantation. It’s a beautiful place to unwind and chill, and you are looked after so well. Deepthi’s cooking is amazing. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We enjoyed the hike to Little Worls’end and the visit of the tea factory.

Very beautiful house near downtown but quiet with a nice garden. Very clean and comfortable. So friendly and helpful host. Made tea and laundry without charge. Great, very big breakfast with so many different food and fruit, it was just perfect.. The place is perfekt to visit the area, like knuckles mountains or Godapola Teafactory, that is very special.
