Minimarket was 5 min walking away, nice and cheap restaurant 3 min. I even walked to the airport which was around 40min. The bus station for the collectivos to Santa Maria (scooter rental) is 20min walking. The room and the house is superclean, modern, and the owner is really friendly, and nearly always available via booking or WhatsApp. He speaks Portugese, Englisch, spanish and french... He has mountain bikes for rent (just 7km to the Salinas), and in the near future also scooter. The room is big with a big bed and a comfy matrace. There is a table and chairs. Also there are enough plugs to charge your stuff. The bathroom looks / is new and has a shower with hot water. The WiFi works great. I loved staying here! Definitely recommend this place!

It's located in a residential area in front of the school, so it's quiet at night. Since we walked from the airport, it was a perfect location for us (on the street into town). Blackout curtains help keep out the morning light. There's a kitchenette with enough utensils to cook a simple meal. An air conditioner worked well and came in handy during a sandstorm.

The accommodation provides free WiFi throughout the property, as well as a terrace and a family-friendly restaurant. Everything was perfect! The apartment was great, in a quiet area and close to the pedestrian street and the beach. The kitchen had everything you needed in case you wanted to cook anything, big balcony, comfortable mattress, clean bathroom. Dali and Zuela are absolutely amazing, they arranged a taxi from us from the airport so everything went smooth. They are always there to help you with whatever you need - be it the accommodation, booking trips for you, or telling you how to find your way around the island. On top of that, when my husband got (slightly) bitten by a dog, Dali went above and beyond to find us a clinic that was open and we are grateful for that! She even helped us with other stuff after we moved to another hotel, which wasn’t her job anymore, but being the nice person that she is, she did that too. Our only regret is that we didn’t spend the whole holiday there!

The hosts are so friendly and helpful, arranging everything for me and even taking the time to walk me to the colectivo station so I could get a cheaper ride back to the airport than possible with a taxi. The apartment itself has everything you need and there is a great grocery store around the corner, plus countless good restaurants and coffee shops in east walking distance. You get all the benefit of Santa Maria’s amenities without feeling cloistered in a resort.

Though I stayed for only one night, there was still enough time to feel charm of the place and warmth and friendliness of the hosts. Room and bathroom were comfortable, everything was very new and clean, the place is very quiet and felt very safe. Sleeping was of the best quality. Breakfast was excellent, too.

The apartment features parking on-site, spa facilities and an ATM. Fantastic. I can recomend to everybody. Swimming pool two steps, Beach and ocean four steps. Main street with hundreds of restaurants six steps ;-). Diving center and pier ten steps. Qiute good equpiped kitchen, comfortable bed, air-condition, nice terrace. A very helpful host, he provided advice on activities on site. On the last day we had a midnight flight. We could stay in the apartment without additional charges until the evening. What's more, he organized transport from the airport to the apartment (we arrived at midnight, the driver was waiting for us). Thank you for everything Stan (Stijn)
